The second of the Momentum One Day Cup semi finals sees the Lions start as short price favourites for their clash with the Knights at Potchefstroom on Tuesday.

 

 

 

Lions

 

The Lions topped Pool B ahead of the Cobras with the Warriors missing out on the play offs. The Lions won their first 3 matches of that pool to secure an extended stay in the tournament before losing their most recent outing to the Cobras by 76 runs.

 

The Lions had started their campaign with a 6 wicket victory over the Cape side and followed up with a 42 run win over the Warriors. Another 6 wicket win over the Warriors sealed the deal so they can arguably be forgiven the below par display in the second clash with the Cobras.

Dominic Hendricks is the Lions top run scorer with 167 in 4 knocks, 

 

Knights

 

The Knights are the most fortunate of the teams to make the semi finals. They contested Pool A alongside the Dolphins and the Titans and the bulk of the games were washed out. The Knights began with a 53 run loss to the Dolphins where they were tasked with chasing 291 for victory. That game was staged back on 10^th January and no play was possible in their 3 subsequent pool matches. The Knights still advanced to the semi finals at the expense of the Titans who suffered a heavier defeat to the Dolphins in their only action of the tournament.

 

Potchefstroom

 

With all the matches being staged at this venue the pitches (and the weather forecast) will be well worth keeping an eye on

The Verdict:

 

The Knights have had so little cricket and hence you can understand the difference in the odds in the match result market. However the underdogs are “here for
