PaarlWednesday's Betway SA20 action comes from Paarl where the Royals host MI Cape Town, the second meeting between the sides in three days and earlier in the week it was MI who came out on top

Paarl Royals

The Royals have played 2 matches so far and have 1 win and 1 defeat against their name. In their opening match, staged at this venue, they thrashed Sunrisers Eastern Cape by wickets with Lhuan-dre Pretorius (97) and Joe Root (62) off 44 helping them chase down 176 for victory in 18.4 overs.

The Royals couldn't follow up when they took on today's opponents at Newlands on Monday. MI posted 172/7 batting first (Galiem 3/24) and the run chase ended on 139/9 with no Royals batsmen making it to 35 runs and MI won by 33 runs.

MI Cape Town

MI Cape Town have played 3 matches so far, winning 2 and losing 1 and Monday's victory over the Royals saw them go top of the standings (ahead of Tuesday's double header).

MI started with a 97 run win away to Sunrisers but second time out they lost to the Super Kings in Joburg by 6 runs (DLS). On Monday Reeza Hendricks (59) and van der Dussen (42) set the platform for their total of 172/7 and Delano Potgieter continued his excellent form with a cameo of 29. George Linde returned figures of 3/15 and Rabada and Rashid Khan both took 2 wickets in their comfortable 33 run victory.

The Verdict

On Monday's evidence its hard to see Paarl turning things around against an MI side who look to have arguably the strongest bowling attack in the tournament. However the unpredictable nature of the sport leads me elsewhere for a bet.

Bjorn Fortuin has been bowling well for the Royals without getting the reward in the wickets column he deserves. I'm hoping that will change on Wednesday.

Bet:  Top Royals bowler Bjorn Fortuin at 3.15/1 with Betway
