ChelseaThe pick of this weekend's English Premier League matches takes place at Stamford Bridge on Sunday where Chelsea host Manchester City

Chelsea

Chelsea came out on top in a crazy London derby at Spurs on Monday. VAR was even busier than usual, Spurs took the lead, Chelsea levelled, Spurs had 2 players sent off and Chelsea cut loose in the closing minute with a hat trick for Jackson to run out 4-1 winners.

Prior to that Chelsea let favourite backers down when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Brentford whilst a recent London derby with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge finished 2-2. Other top sides to visit Chelsea this season include Villa (who were 1-0 winners after Chelsea picked up a red card) and Liverpool who drew 1-1 on the opening weekend.

Man City

Coming into the weekend program City were a point clear of Spurs and 3 clear of Liverpool and Arsenal, all of whom are in action on Saturday. Haaland picked up a knock in last week's 6-1 home win over Bournemouth but he was back in action in midweek and scored twice as City booked a UCL last 16 place with a 3-0 home win over Young Boys.

Back to the league and City have won 9 and lost 2 of their matches and both defeats came away from home, at Wolves (2-1) and Arsenal (1-0). In their most recent road trip City were comfortable 3-0 winners over Manchester United in the derby.

Recent Head to Head

Last season this fixture finished 1-0 to City, as did the return in Manchester and City also thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in a home FA Cup tie.

City have won 5 of the last 6 EPL head to heads.

The Betting

At the time of writing Chelsea are trading at 39/10 to win the game with the draw priced at 28/10 and Man City can be backed at around 8/11

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 8/10 and it's 15/20 for both teams to score

Haaland is 2.82/1 to score the first goal of the game and 9/10 to score anytime

The Verdict:

City turned their last away game against Man United into a one sided contest, fielding arguably their strongest line up of the season and I fancy they can win a game of 3 goals or more. For an anytime goalscorer I'm going to chance my arm with Alvarez.

Bets: Match result and total goals, away win and over 2.5 at 15/10 with Playabets

Anytime goalscorer Julian Alvarez at 2.13/1 with Playabets
