wolves1819After losing top spot in the English Premier League last weekend Spurs bid to bounce back at Wolves on Saturday although the visitors will be far from full strength.

Wolves

Wolves 5 match unbeaten run came to an end at Sheffield United last weekend when they went down 2-1 to a late penalty. That left them in fourteenth spot with 12 points, 6 clear of the drop zone. Recent home for is solid, score draws with Newcastle (2-2) and Villa (1-1) and their stand out result is a 2-1 win over new league leaders Manchester City.

As far as the team news is concerned Neto has been missing with injury lately and reports at the time of writing suggest he could be back by the end of this

month.

Spurs

Spurs were beaten 4-1 at home to Chelsea on Monday night and they have slipped to second spot, 1 point behind Manchester City. It was a crazy match dominated by VAR interventions. Spurs had Romero and Udogie sent off and were also hit by injuries but Chelsea only cut loose late on.

Prior to that Spurs had been unbeaten in the league with 8 wins and 2 draws and their only dropped points away from home came in 2-2 draws at Brentford and Arsenal.

On the teams news front defenders Udogie and Romero are suspended and centre half Van de Ven and midfielder James Madisson also picked up knocks and left the Chelsea game early, watch the media for news of their well being but it certainly didn't look good for Van de Ven.

Recent Head to Head

Last season this fixture finished 1-0 to Wolves whilst Spurs were 1-0 winners when the teams met in London.

The last 6 EPL head to heads have all seen backers of under 2.5 goals collect.

The Betting

At the time of writing Wolves are trading at 21/10 to win the game with the draw priced at 26/10 and Spurs can be backed at around 12/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 6/10 and it's 0.52 for both teams to score

The Verdict:

Although goals have been pretty scarce in recent head to heads Spurs are short of first choice defenders and I see scope for goals for both sides. Unfortunately that is reflected in the quotes for markets such as over 2.5 and btts yes.

With that in mind I will look to the anytime goalscorer markets where in my opinion the outstanding candidates are Son for Spurs and Hee-chan for Wolves

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Hee-chan at 2/1 with Sportingbet

Anytime goalscorer Son at 5/4 with Sportingbet
