HAT MAN showed pace over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Original Copy. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Sibongile Liyaba steps back into the saddle and the combination merit respect.

RACE 2

BLOWN AWAY hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. He ran a fair race over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He returns from an 11-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Fire Away should enjoy the rise to 1200m and if not in need of this outing, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

HOT SAUCE is an unraced daughter of Canford Cliffs from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to three-time winner Simply Majestic. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

ABOVE THE HORIZON stayed on when fourth over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He will love the extra 200m and there should be more to come.

RACE 3

LADY SPRINGFIELD ran a fair race when sixth in the Listed Schweppes Cape Fillies Classic. She has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this distance. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will love racing on the longer straight. She is having her peak run and may be the one to side with.

FIRST WISH is a winner of her last two starts over 2000m on the polytrack. She has won on this course previously. The 11-week break may have done her the world of good and if fit, she can bring up the hat-trick.

PROTECT THE DREAM was her own worst enemy over 1600m last time as she over raced in the early stages. She tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 4

GLOBETONIC moved up well in his last start over this C&D, before getting caught in the shadow of the post by stable companion Igugulethu. The 6yo gelding meets a similar line-up this afternoon and with luck in running, he can go one better.

GUARDING THE WALL found betting support when winning his last start over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed from his good draw of two and may be hard to peg back.

FUTURE OF ENERGY finished 2.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe.

GREENLIGHT LEGEND ran on well when winning her local debut over this C&D. She won that race easier than the official margin suggests. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight takes on stronger, but she may be ahead of the handicapper and can follow up with another victory.

FIRE GLOW was in need of her comeback run over 1200m on this course. She takes a drop back in class and will strip much fitter. If putting her best foot forward, she should pose a threat.

SKY VELOCITY’S last three starts have been good. She found one too good in the form of Walkonthewildside last time. She is likely to race on the speed from her good draw of two and cannot be ignored.

Race 6

WITHOUT QUESTION should have finished closer to the winner over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time as he hung outwards in the final 400m. Two of his three career victories have come over this distance. If all went well with his travels, he should return to winning ways.

BINGWA won a good race in the Non-Black Type Fairview 1900. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break which would have done him the world of good. Six of his eight career victories have come over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SEQUOIA’S last three starts have been good. He finished 1.5 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 7

ANOTHERDANCEFORME is a winner of both her career efforts to date. She showed speed over 1000m on this course last time and fought hard to hold BONJOUR LA VILLE at bay. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She should love the rise to 1200m and can remain unbeaten.

INSTAWORTHY was not disgraced when third in the Listed Heineken Summer Juvenile Stakes last time. The daughter of Canford Cliffs will love the rise to 1200m and she is one of the leading contenders.

SILVA CITY finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 8

This is a competitive Classified Stakes and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is CHAMPONELLE from the Cliffie Miller stable. He followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this C&D. He cast a shoe in running that day which did not help his chances. He drops in class and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

COASTAL PATH has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won three times and finished third twice from eight starts over this C&D. He will strip much fitter and merits obvious inclusion.

CAPTAIN TIK TOK has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. Two of his three career victories have come over this distance. The son of Pomodoro can earn another cheque for his patrons
