RACE 1
ALADO‘S HABIT produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was eye-catching. The daughter of Alado would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.
MILLION REASONS rallied late when second over this C&D last time. The blinkers have done the trick on the daughter of Heavenly Blue. She is back against her own sex and Calvin Habib may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
TUNE AGAIN should have finished closer to the winner last time. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
RACE 2
OH MANDY ran on from last in her local debut over 1400m on this course. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The daughter of Rafeef jumps from pole position and she may be the one to side with.
ANGEL OF MY HEART‘S last two starts over further have been fair. She is back against her own sex and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
MAXIGIRL has finished third in her last two starts over this C&D. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should be involved at the finish.
RACE 3
TREASURE HUNT ran a fair race when fourth against male company over 1400m on this course last time. She finished 0.5 lengths behind KABON KAPI in her penultimate outing. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She jumps from pole position and can notch up her sixth-career victory.
KABON KAPI is a winner of her last three starts. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this C&D. Apprentice Damyan Pillay takes the 4kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She is in a good space and may be hard to peg back.
WOMAN OF POWER finished 0.05 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
RACE 4
WALKONTHEWILDSIDE was an impressive winner on debut over this C&D. She had to make up a lot of ground when turning for home and flew up late to get the better of Her Royalty. She would have gained from the experience and could be anything. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and can remain unbeaten.
CHARLIE MALONE has consistent form lines to his credit. He has won once and finished third four times from nine starts over this C&D. The son of Querari is one of the leading contenders.
RAVILIOUS jumped inwards leaving the start last time, but stayed on at the finish. He takes a slight drop in class and despite his big mass, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 5
EXECUTOR stayed on when fourth in her comeback run over 1100m on this course. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Canford Cliffs will strip much fitter and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
ELLA‘S DELIGHT has fair recent form lines to her credit. She stumbled leaving the start last time, but stayed on nicely at the finish. If getting away to a clean break, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
NOTORIX ran a fair race over 1200m on this course last time. Three of his five career victories have come over this C&D. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be the first male past the post.
Race 6
PEDRO‘S last three starts have been good. He was unlucky not to have won his last start as he was carried outwards at the 50m mark. It must be noted that El Romiachi has come out and won again since. The 6yo gelding has cracked pole position and if jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways.
MO THE MAN ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. He was reported to be coughing that day. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he is one of the leading contenders.
CHEEKY LADDIE is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. He has been disappointing in his last two starts in the Western Cape. He gets the blinkers fitted and if taking to the polytrack, there should be good improvement to come.
RACE 7
FIREALLEY won a game race in the Non-Black Type Founders Trophy last time. The 7yo gelding will love the rise to 1900m. He is in a good space and jumps from pole position once again. Marco van Rensburg retains the ride and against similar company, he can bring up the hat-trick.
EAST COAST finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
BINGWA raced from a handy position in the Non-Black Type November Stakes last time and found one too good in the form of Passchendaele. He is at his best over shorter, but is the class horse and must be included in all bets.
RACE 8
ALL ABOUT LOVE had to be steadied when leaving the start last time and was reported to be coughing post-race. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1900m. He is drawn widest of all, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
MADEIRA CLIFFS showed good improvement in his last start over 2200m on this course. He jumps from pole position and must be considered.
KINNIKINNIK is having his first run in the Eastern Cape. The son of Act Of War should have no issues with the rise to 1900m. If settled into his new surroundings, he can show improvement
