Race 1

TAMIL TIGRESS took on much stronger in the Grade 2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper last time. Her penultimate run in the Listed Hollywoodbets Super League Devon Air Stakes was encouraging. She drops back to the 1200m and returns to Maiden Company. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and she may be the one to side with

CONTRA FISCUM was slow into stride over 1000m last time, but stayed on well to finish fourth. She ran a good race when second in her penultimate run over this distance. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FAIRY CIRCLE finished 3.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 2

BABYLON made the expected natural improvement when second in his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. He raced from just off the pace, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Try Me. The son of Global View is a progressive type and in this field, he should take a power of beating.

HERE WITH ME returns from a 10-week break and is having his first run for the Roy Magner stable. His penultimate run when fourth over this C&D was encouraging. If settled into his new surroundings, he should pose a threat.

LT ALEXANDER was disappointing in his last two starts. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 3

VILLAGE GREEN showed some good improvement in her last start over 1400m at Turffontein. The daughter of Flower Alley is a progressive type and will love the step up to the mile. Calvin Habib does duty and she should have more to come.

MOCHA MACAROON finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

CRYSTAL MAIDEN was in need of her debut effort over 1450m on this course. She was slow into stride, raced green but stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Flower Alley would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should run into the placings

Race 4

KUDZU produced a promising debut effort over 1450m on this course. He lost a length leaving the start, understandably raced green but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Flower Alley will love the rise to the mile and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

PURPLE PITCHER took on winners in the Non-Black Type Highveld Winter Juvenile Stakes last time. His penultimate run when third over this distance was encouraging. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

SCARLETT PIMPERNEL raced from a handy position over 1450m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Viva De Janeiro. The son of Flower Alley tries the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can earn another cheque for his patrons.

Race 5

EYE OF THE PROPHET stayed on when fifth over 1700m last time. He has won twice and finished second twice from five starts on this course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is having his peak run today and can notch up his fifth-career victory.

FLASHY APACHE was running on when third over 1700m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He will love the extra 100m on offer and merits obvious inclusion.

DUKE OF SUSSEX ran on strongly when winning his last start over 1600m on this course. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. Six of his nine career victories have come on this course and if not in need of the run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 6

HERE IS THE TIGER won his last start easier than the official margin suggests. He jumped awkwardly leaving the start, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The 5yo gelding received a six-pound penalty for that victory. He may still be ahead of the handicapper and can follow up.

DUNGEONS showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1700m. It must be noted that Royal Guide has come out and won again since. He has dropped to a competitive rating and is one of the leading contenders.

RAIN OR SHINE is better than his last start over 1600m at Turffontein. He finished second in his penultimate start over this C&D. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and if putting his best foot forward, he should run a big race.

Race 7

KOTINOS produced a typical second run after a rest over 1600m last time. His penultimate run when second over this C&D, catches the eye. He was settled at the rear of the field that day and ran on well. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts on this course. The son of Var is having his peak run today and can return to winning ways.

SCALLYWAG is a winner of his last three starts and is unbeaten for the Tony Peter stable. He won his only attempt over this distance. He takes another rise in class, but is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

FOSTINOVO should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was steadied at the 500m mark and had to be switched for galloping room at the 250m mark. He won his only attempt on this course and must be included in all bets
