JOBURG SUPER KINGS

The Joburg Super Kings got their Tournament off to a good start when they beat the Durban Super Giants by 16 runs away from home in their opener. They then suffered big defeats against the Paarl Royals and MI Cape Town with their batting letting them down. They were bowled out for 81 against the Royals and against MI Cape Town last time out they scored 105 for 9 in their 20 overs with only Leus du Plooy getting into the 20’s. MI Cape Town knocked up the runs with just under 4 overs to spare and with 7 wickets in hand and Gerald Coetzee was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 24 in his 4 overs.

PRETORIA CAPITALS

The Pretoria Capitals first game was in the Eastern Cape where they beat the Sunrisers Eastern Cape by 23 runs having scored a 193 for 6 in their 20 overs. They then came up to Centurion for a rematch against the Sunrisers and this time they scored 216 for 6 in their 20 overs with Will Jacks getting a Tournament high of 92 off 46 balls. Sunrisers were then restricted to a 179 for 7 and Wayne Parnell was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 20 off 3 overs.

Joburg Super Kings 5/4

Pretoria Capitals 4/6

Suggested Bet: Joburg Super Kings Top Bowler, Gerald Coetzee at 9/4

I was impressed with the way Coetzee stormed in against MI Cape Town and he was rewarded with 2 wickets there and if he can keep up that sort of fiery pace he should get amongst the wickets again.

Suggested Bet: Joburg Super Kings Top Batsman, Reeza Hendricks at 23/10

Hendricks hasn’t fired yet in the Tournament, but it is a matter of time before he takes off as he has always been a player who goes out cheaply or scores big runs. I think it is time for the latter.
