The Joburg Super Kings host the Durban Super Giants in Joburg on Tuesday night and with the competition heading towards the business end it is a crucial match for both teams.

The Joburg Super Kings currently sit second from bottom of the table on 12 points from their 6 matches. They have won 3 and lost 3 of their games and are priced at 6/1 to win the tournament. All 4 of the teams above them would have played at least one game more than them by the time this game starts.

The Durban Super Giants are bottom of the table after 3 successive losses and they have only won 3 of their 6 matches this season. They are now rank outsiders at 12/1 to lift the cup.

A win here is non-negotiable if they are to have a realistic chance of contesting the semi-finals.

JOBURG SUPER KINGS

The Joburg Super Kings are coming off a victory against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape on Saturday. The Super Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first and that proved to be a good decision as they got the Sunrisers Super Kings all out for 127 in just under 19 overs. Aaron Phangiso with 4 for 20 in his 4 overs put in an excellent spell as did Gerald Coetzee who got 4 for 24 in 3.4 overs.

Joburg Super Kings never looked totally in control with the chase, but when Leus du Plooy got to the crease all of that changed and he scored 47 off 40 balls and was ably supported by Faf du Plessis who got 37 off 38.

DURBAN SUPER GIANTS

The Durban Super Giants were away to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape on Sunday and they took an absolute hiding going down by 124 runs. They had won the toss and decided to bowl, a decision which back-fired when they conceded 210 runs off the 20 overs. Dwaine Pretorius with 1 for 36 runs in 3 overs was the pick of the bowlers who all took a beating.

Things got worse in the run chase though and they were bowled out for 86 with Wiaan Mulder the top scorer with 29 off 15 balls. Captain, Quinton de Kock coming in 5 and getting a Golden Duck.

Joburg Super Kings 8/11

Durban Super Giants 11/10

I am not overly confident in either of these sides, but I would certainly give the Joburg Super Kings the nod, but with so many other betting markets available I am going to look for other alternatives to the straight win bet.

Suggested Bet: Matthew Breetzke, Total Runs over 15.5 at 17/20

Breetzke finally made his tournament debut on Sunday and the pressure was on from the start and he went cheaply. He has plenty of talent though and I am backing him to come right at the Wanderers.

Suggested Bet: Joburg Super Kings over 4.5 Sixes at 10/11

The Wanderers is a ground that tends to give up a lot of maximums and the Kings have a number of players in the team capable of clearing the boundary.
