The top flight of South African domestic football has a new sponsor in the shape of Betway and we pick out a few plays for the first day of the new season on Saturday.
Royal AM v Cape Town City
We get under way on Saturday when Royal Am take on Cape Town City in a 3pm kick off. City could be the sharper of the two sides given they have played 3 games in the MTN8, a 1-0 win at Sekhukhune in the quarter finals, a 1-1 draw at home to Pirates in the first leg of the semi's and a 2-0 defeat in Orlando in the return.
If offered a free bet I would probably lean towards City but looking for trends this fixture has delivered for backers of 2-3 goals in total on a regular basis and that's where I'm heading.

Marumo Gallants v Kaizer Chiefs
Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi is the latest coach to be tasked with getting a tune out of success starved Chiefs, he has a wealth of experience on the continent and if he can get a much changed squad to gel early he could prove to be an inspired appointment.
Gallants could be something of an unknown quantity in the early stages of the season but I'm with Chiefs to give the new coach a positive start and will go with the visitors to score at least 2 goals.

Polokwane City v Amazulu
Polokwane made Sundowns dig deep in the MTN8 quarter finals and whilst Amazulu will be reliant on a lengthy pre-season to be match fit for their opening league game. Both of last season's head to heads failed to provide a goal and the draw is often a big runner in the PSL but on this occasion the hosts get the nod.

Sunday's fixture sees Richards Bay host TS Galaxy and we will take a watching brief there and return with a midweek preview which will include the derby clash between Sundowns and Supersport.
