France 0.27/1 Draw 4.75/1 Poland 10/1 (90 mins)

France

Defending champions France topped Group D with 6 points, ahead of Australia on goal difference with Tunisia third and Denmark fourth

Raibot, Giroud (twice) and Mbappe were the French scorers in the 4-1 win against Australia in their opening match, they were a goal down in that game but led 2-1 by half time.

They saw off Denmark 2-1 next time out with Mbappe scoring both goals in the second half, either side of a Denmark equalizer. France had already sealed a last 16 place regardless of what happened in their final group match against Tunisia. They made wholesale changes although Mbappe and Griezmann were introduced off the bench and Griezmann had a goal chalked off by VAR at the death and Tunisia held on for a 1-0 win.

In the outright betting to win the tournament France are trading at around 5/1

Poland

Poland squeezed through as runners up to Argentina in Group C, edging out Mexico on goal difference with Saudi Arabia fourth.

Poland started with a 0-0 draw against Mexico. It was generally a game of few chances but Lewandowski did miss a second half penalty, that aside Poland created very little.

A 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia followed with Zielinski towards the end of the first half and Lewandowski towards the end of the second the goalscorers and Wojciech Szczesny saved a penalty when they were 1-0 up.

In their final group match Poland lost 2-0 to Argentina, Szczesny saved another spot kick and the Poles had a nervy time of it as Mexico threatened to overhaul their goal difference.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Poland are trading at around 150/1

The Verdict:

I think you can probably draw a line through France's defeat in their final group match against Tunisia and whilst Poland will work their socks off and have a keeper in top form, I doubt they have enough to cause an upset.

Mbappe will be a handful and I'm with France to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0.

England 0.53/1 Draw 29/10 Senegal 6/1 (90 mins)

England

England topped Group B, unbeaten with 2 wins and 1 draw with USA runners up and Iran and Wales failed to make the cut.

Saka scored twice for England in the 6-2 win over Iran with the other goals coming from Bellingham, Sterling, Rashford and Grealish ad 5 different players contributed assists.

England were really poor in their second match against the USA which ended without a goal but they were as good as through heading into their final group match against Wales which they won 3-0 (Rashford twice and Foden)

In the outright betting to win the tournament England are trading at around 8/1

Senegal

African champions Senegal finished as runners up to the Netherlands in Group A with Ecuador third a Qatar never got in a blow.

Senegal lost their opening match against the Netherlands by a 2-0 scoreline after they conceded 2 late goals. They put themselves back in contention with a 3-1 win over Qatar with Dia, Diédhiouadded and Dieng on target.

That set up a virtual eliminator with Ecuador who only needed a draw to advance. Ismaila Sarr gave Senegal the lead from the spot just before half time, they were pegged back on 67 minutes but 3 minutes later Kalidou Koulibaly put them back in front and they held on for a 2-1 win.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Senegal are trading at around 125/1

The Verdict:

Although main striker Mane is absent from these finals Senegal have plenty of quality and England will have to be on their game.

Gut feel is England's attacking talent will see them through but Southgate's team came through arguably the weakest group, their defence hasn't really been tested and I believe Senegal have a goal in them.
