BettingDiaryThe Europa League Final takes place at the Stadion Energa in Gdansk on Wednesday night and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

Villarreal were too good for Arsenal in the semi-final drawing at the Emirates 0-0 to secure a 2-1 aggregate victory. They had seen off Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals and Dynamo Kyiv 4-0 over 2 legs in the Round of 16.

Looking at their recent domestic form they went down 2-1 away to Real Madrid on the weekend, but had previously seen off Sevilla 4-0 at home and goals have been flowing quite freely in their League matches.

Manchester United did the damage in their semi-final with a 6-2 home victory over Roma in the first leg, they then lost 3-2 away from home, but progressed through 8-5 on aggregate. In the quarter-finals they saw off Granada CF 4-0 over two legs and their last 16 encounter was a tight one eventually getting the better of AC Milan 2-1 on aggregate.

Manchester United finished 2nd in the English Premier League and wrapped up their campaign with a 2-1 away win over Wolves on the weekend. There have been plenty of goals in recent Manchester United games and both teams have found the back of the net in their last 7 matches across all competitions.

These sides haven't met in a competitive match since the 2008/2009 Champions League.

Villarreal 7/2

Draw 5/2

Manchester United 17/20

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 9/10

Manchester United look worthy favourites for this clash, but if you look at a trend in recent matches it is that they are a bit shaky at the back and tend to concede goals. I like both teams to find the back of the net here and based on that logic would also consider the over 2.5 goals at 21/20.

Additional Bet: Correct Score, Villarreal 1, Manchester United 3 at 29/2

I always like to take a speculative stand at the correct score and I am going where I see free-flowing football, I am looking for the Red Devils to come out on top with a 3-1 margin.

There are a host of other markets available on the game and also look out for in-play betting throughout the final.
