Going with the friendlies which is not normally a good idea but these look sort of half decent

Lille vs Lens

Lens have really overachieved to be in the position that they are in right now and before the international break they were brought back to earth by Nice (1-3 home defeat).

It comes down to their defence, which has over-performed. In Ligue 1, they have allowed 27 goals off of 36.7 expected goals. All of that is because of their goalkeeper Brice Samba, who is having a ridiculous shot stopping season
However, teams will always level out towards their underlying numbers and the same can be said about Lille.

Lille have been going through a difficult run at the moment, as they’ve only picked up eight points from their last six matches, despite having a positive xG.

Lille's centre backs are very good at winning aerial duels, which allows Lille to win second balls.
Lille have been outstanding at forcing high turnovers and also have the most shots off of forced high turnovers in Ligue 1.

Ultimately, Lille create the second most non-penalty expected goals in the last nine rounds.

Taylor was not interested in dishing out cards tonight. Was a good bet South. What a brilliant result for the Reds though, into 12/10 to win the league now

Thank goodness I couldn’t watch as sounded a dire encounter. Just a small bet for an interest and the Liverpool shots plus the bonus of a nice lead in the league made for a cracking afternoon! Going to be a great next few weeks.
