Winning Form selections for all races from @Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday 25th October where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
DIGBY should have finished closer to the winner last time. He over raced and was green on the turn. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Captain Of All should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. He is having his peak run and from a good draw of three, he may be the one to beat.
THAT’LL B THE DAY was disappointing in his last start over 1400m. His penultimate run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville with the blinkers fitted, catches the eye. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he should pose a massive threat.
WILLIAM’S WOMAN raced from just off the pace over 1250m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Calanque. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 2
FUTURE GAMBLE caught the eye when sixth on debut over 1250m on this course. She was slow into stride, took time to find her feet but finished off her race well. The daughter of Futura would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1500m. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she can improve to shed her maiden tag.
ONE DANCE has finished second in her last three starts. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung in the final 200m and the saddle was reported to have slipped. She tries the 1500m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be competitive.
LOUI’S STAR ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that Beach Verse has come out and won again since. With a bit of luck in running, she should earn another cheque.
Race 3
CAPRANICA showed signs of needing his first two starts in KwaZulu-Natal. He returns from a 15-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Hawwaam tries further and the fitting of the blinkers may do the trick. He jumps from a good draw of two with Richard Fourie booked to ride. There should be good improvement to come from him.
KONNICHIWA should have finished closer last time as he received a bump at the 150m mark. He is having his peak run and has cracked pole position. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
JOSHUA ran a fair race when fourth over this C&D last time. The son of Pathfork is a progressive type and may have more improvement to come.
Race 4
PENTOLINA finished 0.5 lengths behind HUNGA TONGA last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. She should get a good run in transit from pole position and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
LAVENDER BAY finished 0.55 lengths behind HUNGA TONGA in the race referred to above. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
HUNGA TONGA won a game race over 1600m on this course last time. She raced from a handy position, found extra where it matters most and kept all challengers at bay. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
Race 5
BETTER MAN followed up his maiden win with a hard fought victory over this C&D. The son of One World received a six-pound penalty for that victory. He looks to have ability and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he can bring up the hat-trick.
BATON ROUGE has good consistent form lines to his name. He finished 2.5 lengths behind FUTURE FREE in his penultimate outing. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
FUTURE FREE followed up his maiden win with an easy victory over this C&D. He is a progressive individual and with luck in running, he can bring up the hat-trick.
Race 6
GENTLEMAN JOE has produced two fair runs since returning to the Western Cape. He stayed on when fourth over 2000m on this course last time. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he can notch up his fifth-career victory.
TWO A PENNY stayed on when fifth over 1800m on this course last time. She was an easy winner of her penultimate outing with Richard Fourie aboard. The daughter of Twice Over will strip much fitter and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should give the males a run for their money.
TWICE THE MASTER was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. He meets a similar type of field and from his good draw of three, he can follow up with another victory.
Race 7
INDUSTRIALSTRENGTH challenged strongly when second over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Mente Et Manu who has come out and won again since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He does take on stronger, but carries a handy galloping mass of 55.5kgs and can return to winning ways.
TENPENNY was running on when third over this C&D last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is drawn widest in barrier eight but JP van der Merwe knows him well and should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
UMFULA finished 2.05 lengths behind HANDSOME PRINCE last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today. The son of Canford Cliffs ideally is at his best over further, but will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 8
DEVIL A SAINT has been taking on stronger and drops in class. He was not beaten far when fifth over 1400m on this course last time. The son of Querari has dropped in the ratings and Callan Murray may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
DELTA PRIDE was an easy winner of his last start over 1400m on this course. He showed a good turn of foot and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Hawwaam is a progressive type and should run a big race.
ASTRONOMICAL BOY made the natural progression when winning his maiden over 1250m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He should have no issues with the rise to 1500m and is well-related. Craig Zackey retains the ride from a good draw of two and he should be competitive.
Race 9
OCTOBER STORM was touched off in his last start over this C&D. He moved up well that day and should strip much fitter for this outing. The son of Vercingetorix meets a similar line-up and from his good draw of three, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
MAGICAL PLACE finished 1.45 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
BLUFF ON BLUFF stayed on at the finish when fourth in the Non-Black Type Winter Country Championship 1000 Final last time. It must be noted that She’s My World has come out and won again since. With a bit of luck in running, he should be involved at the finish
