BettingDiaryWorld Cup Cricket and a FIFA Women’s World Cup semi-final takes centre stage on Wednesday and we take a look at what punters can bet on as well as a build up to the weekend and the Vodacom Durban July and Super Rugby Final.

FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP

The second semi-final takes place at 21h00 South African time on Wednesday night and sees the Netherlands up against Sweden.  The Netherlands were too strong for Italy winning 2-0 in their quarter-final and they now face Sweden who beat Germany 2-1 and progressed to the last 4 despite not having topped their Group.  This looks a fairly competitive betting heat with the Netherlands 13/10 favourites, the draw at 43/20 and Sweden priced at 9/4.

CRICKET WORLD CUP

England dodged a bullet when they beat India on Sunday and they now face another top 4 side in New Zealand knowing that a defeat could yet see them exit the Tournament before the semi-finals.  England have been priced up as firm favourites to win the match at 9/20 with the Black Caps on offer at 18/10.  We have a full preview of the match on our blog and our scribe is going for the home team on the handicap of -3.5 wickets or -18.5 runs at 17/20.

TOUR DE FRANCE

Cycling’s biggest race gets going on Saturday and while Chris Froome is unfortunately out injured, Team INEOS still hold a strong hand with both favourites Egan Bernal and defending Champion Geraint Thomas topping the betting boards.  Bernal is 2/1 with Thomas 5/2 and you can get 11/2 about Jakob Fuglsang, the only other rider quoted in single figures.  There will be betting on each and every Tour de France stage and for prices on the long-term markets like King Of The Mountain and the Points Jersey you can click here.

CRUSADERS V JAGUARES SUPER RUGBY FINAL

The big match takes place on Saturday and we can report some betting movement with the handicap moving from (-13.5) Crusaders to (-12.5).  This is on the back of support for the Jaguares on the handicap and also the fact that two of the Crusaders key players in lock Barrett and centre Crotty are unlikely to play.  A number of additional markets have been added to the Super Rugby final betting and you can click here to view them.

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place in Durbanville on Wednesday and the first race is set to start at 12.10 with the 8th and final race at 16.25.

The Durban July build up continues with the field this year said to be one of the strongest line-ups ever and favourite Hawwaam has drifted out very slightly from 21/10 to 22/10 with the remainder of the Top 4 in the betting fairly stable.  There has been a notable move in the long shot market with Summer Cup Champion, Tilbury Fort cut from 55/1 to 50/1.  Remember you can bet on all of the races on the big day and on the July itself there are a host of markets including Tote Bets such as Swingers and Trifectas.
