newsletterThe latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend of 14th to 16th August

The title of last week’s weekly mailer was “Let The Wind Blow In Wellington” and we were under 50.5 points for our best bet.  The good news is that the bet arrived by the narrowest of margins, but we had to sweat as the wind had certainly died down by kick-off, in fact conditions were pretty good.  Fortunately we had a low scoring first half of just 15 points and then we just hung on tight to get the win.

Onto this week and news has just broken that the Highlanders game will be moved 4 hours earlier and be played behind closed doors and the Blues v Crusaders game is cancelled due to COVID-19 rearing its ugly head in New Zealand again.

THE NORTH IS BACK

Good news for rugby fans though is that the Gallagher Premiership returns this week and that was the topic of my Citizen Blog “Look North for Profits” powered by Playabets.

One man who has been itching for the Northern Hemisphere comp to get going is @ThoughtsOnSports and last night he joined myself and @Oracle Rugby on THE HANDICAP our Flagship Rugby Betting Show.  You could feel his excitement as he ran through the Gallagher Premiership fixtures and of course we also touched on Super Rugby where Oracle was persuaded into not 1, but 3 private bets.

If you missed the show you can watch it here and for those who prefer a Podcast  can click here.

TIGERS TO KEEP CHIEFS HONEST

Onto this weeks best bet and there was no firm alignment on last nights show and in fact we were quite divided on the Australia games. There has been a lot of talk in the Goodforthegame forum on the Premiership and Southpaw kicked us off with an early pick of Sale -2.5 which has now moved out to -5.5 (that game is played tonight – great to have Friday rugger back)

Another bet which has got a lot of interest is the Leicester Tigers plus away to the Exeter Chiefs. The Chiefs are a formidable opponent at home but this will be played behind closed doors and Leicester have had a change in management and the general feel on the forum is that they will strip fit and be much improved. The line started at +18.5 and is generally +16.5 and I will take the middle at a slightly reduced price of 8/10.

BET: 5 units Leicester Tigers +17.5 at 8/10 at Sportingbet
