The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the 14th to 16th April 2023 and a 12.55/1 acca with @Playabets
I am back from a week in George watching my son play rugby and I must say it is a beautiful part of the country and the economy there is absolutely booming with an influx of Johannesburgers.
My move to golf proved unsuccessful last week when Scottie Scheffler failed to fire at the Masters and it was certainly disappointing as he was striking the ball as well as anybody else, but just couldn’t buy a putt. When he finally got things going in the final round and got up to tie 3rd (which would have got our money back) he played one of the worst tee shots on the famous 12th that I have ever seen. Congratulations to Jon Rahm for taking out the victory!
It ended up quite a successful rugby betting weekend for me as I hit a few nice overs plays in particular on Exeter at home against the Stormers. I actually fancied the Stormers in the game, but just felt the Exeter points quote was too low.
Today has been a but up and down with a nice win on Brumbies overs landing late being cancelled out by a poor Moana effort and the Bulls failing to reach 28 points in the Currie Cup.
THE HANDICAP
It was a pleasure talking rugby betting with @HanrickSwart and @ThoughtsOnSports on last nights THE HANDICAP and I went into the show with a few strong fancies and came out absolutely salivating for the weekend’s rugby to take place.

TRIES TO FLOW IN JOBURG DOUBLE HEADER
I have been waiting for the points lines for the double header in Joburg tomorrow. They are out and Bulls v Zebre is 62.5 and Lions v Leinster 56.5.
I don’t expect 3 pointers in either match and for this reason prefer the overs tries rather than points. In the Bulls game for example – Bulls v Zebre preview here – I went with over 8.5 tries rather than over 62.5 points. Assuming I am correct and we don’t get penalties we would need 9 converted tries to get to 63 points and if we got 8 tries all converted you would need 3 penalties to get to the points – unlikely.
The same logic applies to the Lions game where after the Lions team selection I am a bit nervous about my confident Lions win puck in the preview
I prefer over 7.5 tries rather than over 56.5 points for the exact same reasons as in the Bulls game.
The question is which one is the Best Bet?
I am certainly going to take a strike on the double at just over 5/2 and at the risk of being way over exposed on the Lions game will fly into that as the best bet.
BET: 6 units Total Tries over 7.5 Lions v Leinster at 10/11 at Sportingbet*

Other Highlights on Goodforthegame:
- It is Nedbank Cup quarter finals time and there is a preview in the WSB Blog
Here is the weekly acca at 12.55/1 at Playabets
Chiefs win at 10/11
Waratahs -10.5 at 0.82/1
Munster over 22.5 at 10/11
Pumas -20.5 at 8/10
For the record I wanted WP +15.5 instead of the Waratahs but something must be up as all bookies suspended at the time of writing.
Have a good one!
