The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend of 3rd to 5th July
There was no joy with our alternative handicap double last week and the Blues and Crusaders only just held on to win their respective matches in the end.
Another big week of sport lies ahead though with Australian Super Rugby a welcome addition.
When The Reds Come Marching In!
I mentioned that on last weeks THE HANDICAP Rugby Show the panel liked the Reds (-3.5) very strongly against the Waratahs and it certainly comes as no surprise that the money has followed and the Reds are now out to (-8.5) with most bookmakers. Our preview pick of the Reds (-6.5) 8/10 has also shortened to 7/10 at Worlds Sports Betting.
Last night I was joined by Hanrick Swart and The Conductor and they were both pretty much aligned on most of the matches. I was scratching my head towards the end of the show trying to find a best bet, but Hanrick stepped in and said that even at current levels that had to be the Reds on the minus so that is exactly where we are going.
If you missed the show live last night (perhaps you were Liverpool fans watching them play Manchester City) then you can Click Here to watch THE HANDICAP “Rugby chat that matters” and if you prefer a Podcast Click Here.
BET: 5 Units, Reds (-8.5) at 9/10 at GGGaming
Talking of GGGaming make sure you catch my half-time show with Gary Lentin tomorrow during the Highlanders Crusaders game. I am going to be crossing over to him while he is on one of his exercise machines and it should be a sight for sore eyes and no doubt entertaining.
Possibly the real gem on last night’s show was the long term play which was also posted on the Goodforthegame Forum earlier in the week by last week’s guest Thoughts on Sports. His advice is quite simply "fill your boots" with the Reds to reach the Grand Final at 13/10 in Super Rugby Australia. Hanrick and The Conductor rubber stamped that on last night’s show and we are going with the big play here albeit at the new price.
Bet: 8 Units Reds to make the Grand Final at 12/10 (has shortened from 13/10) at World Sports Betting
