newsletterThe latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend of 10th to 12th July

The Reds came up short for us last week when they beat the Waratahs by 6 points and not the 7 we required.  Well done to the lads who got on the (-3.5) and (-4.5) Reds early in the week and boy they really had to sweat with James O’Connor nailing 2 late penalties to deliver the handicap.

PANEL DIFFER ON BEST BETS

For us though the pressure is mounting after a couple of lean weeks and if you are looking for decisive guidance with all the panelists agreeing on selections then don’t watch last nights THE HANDICAP “Rugby chat that matters”

It was certainly a show with a difference as Oracle Rugby who appeared to be sampling some of his home made Pineapple brew made a guest appearance at the end and my well-publicised connection issues persisted, eventually seeing me handing over the hosting of the show to Couch Critic.

There was plenty of great input from the likes of Couch, Oracle, Son of a Punt and Thoughts on Sports and if you missed it live you can watch it here or if you prefer catch the Podcast on one of the major platforms.

With no obvious best bet emerging from the show I am forced to do something I haven't done in a while and that is make my own selection.

The Hurricanes v Highlanders match on Sunday morning is an interesting one and there was plenty of action on the Highlanders (+10.5) at GGGaming when they came out on Sunday.  I priced this game Hurricanes (-5.5) and the handicap is generally sitting at this (-6.5) level.  It is one of those bets that is growing on me as the week progresses though and I just think the Hurricanes may have turned a corner and that the Highlanders may be running out of puff.  I will make this weeks Best Bet, the Hurricanes to win by 7 or more.
