The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 6th to 8th October including the fifth round of the RWC and a 12/1 acca with @WorldSportsBet
I took the early part of this week to recover from that Australian loss on Sunday. How a team could lead 24-7 at the break against a Tier 2 team and fail to kick on for a comfortable victory is beyond me, but credit to Portugal they played well.
Last week was my first poor one of the World Cup and having not fancied much initially I find myself getting more and more excited for this week’s action.
THE HANDICAP
Mondo joined me live earlier today and we had a good chat about the 7 games ahead. There was some head nodding but also some differences of opinion and we were also joined by The Understaker at the end of show to run through his plays.

I followed up my Pool B scenario’s video with a Pool B conspiracy video this week where it came out very firmly in the favour of the fact that we are going to get a genuine Test Match in Paris. The bottom line is even if we think teams would consider colluding (which I am pretty sure they wouldn’t) Ireland have nothing much to gain from getting South Africa out of the tournament and lets face it the Scots stabbed them in the World Cup hosting back not long ago.
POINTS TO BE TAKEN IN PARIS
It seems fitting then that the Best Bet comes in the Ireland v Scotland match where the Handicap is -11.5 and the Total Points Line is 45.5. The line I have been waiting for is Total Tries and although there aren’t a lot of bookies out yet, the line has come out at 5.5 and I really like the unders here.
Conspiracies aside Scotland must surely take the points as they need to win the game by 8 or more and stop Ireland getting a bonus point while Ireland simply need to keep on accumulating the points to ensure that they don’t get into danger of missing out of the quarter-finals. I don’t expect this price to last and the line itself may move into 4.5 and I am taking a strike at the unders.
