BettingDiaryFriday night sees the clash of the heavy weights when Bayern Munich and Barcelona take each other on in Lisbon in a Champions League Quarter-Final match. We take a look at the game from a betting angle.

Barcelona finished the job against Napoli last week when they beat them 3-1 at home to wrap up a 4-2 aggregate success. They were undefeated in the Group Stages, winning 4 and drawing 2 matches and although much has been made of their shaky League form towards the end of the season they have won 4 and lost 1 of their last 5 League games. Both teams have found the back of the net in Barcelona’s last 4 Champions League matches.

Bayern Munich were too strong for Chelsea in the last 16, winning 7-1 on aggregate including beating them 4-1 at home last week. They have a 100% record in the Champions League this season and have only failed to score 3 goals on one occasion. They have been untouchable in the last few months and they have won 19 consecutive matches in all competitions.

These sides last met in the Champions League in 2014/2015 season, they met in 2 legs in the semi-final and Barcelona progressed 5-3 on aggregate.

Betting:

Barcelona 49/20

Draw 57/20

Bayern Munich 1/1

Suggested Bet: Bayern Munich win at 1/1

Bayer Munich just seem to be in a class of their own at the moment and all doesn’t seem well in the Barcelona camp. This should be a great clash to watch with plenty of goals, but I suspect most of them will be scored by the Germans.

BET: Goals away team, 3 or more at 23/10

Although this is at a neutral venue Bayern Munich are shown as the away team in the betting and I am backing them to continue their run of scoring 3 goals or more in Europe.
