BettingDiaryWe have a look at 3 English Premier League matches taking place on Sunday and Monday and suggest a bet in each.

SUNDAY

EVERTON v WEST HAM

Everton go into this weekend’s fixtures 5th on the table with 4 wins and 2 draws in their 7 starts. Last time out Everton drew 1-1 at Manchester United and their last home game was a 2-0 victory over Norwich and they have a 100% home record this season with 3 wins in 3 starts.

West Ham are currently 9th on the log, but have slipped slightly with 2 losses and a draw in their last 3 starts. Last time out they went down 2-1 at home to Brentford having beaten Leeds away by the same score line as their previous game. Goals have flowed in West Ham matches with 6 of the 7 games delivering profits for over 2.5 goal backers and both times finding the back of the net in all 6 of those games.

Everton 15/10

Draw 12/5

West Ham 19/10

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 8/10

This is not well supported by the head-to-head stats with just 1 goal in each of the fixtures last season, but if you watched this West Ham team play this season they look to have plenty of goals in them, but also look a bit weak in the back and an Everton side with a 100% record could certainly take advantage of that. I am looking for 3 goals or more to win this bet.

NEWCASTLE v TOTTENHAM

Newcastle are currently second from bottom of the log and their fans will be hoping that new ownership is going to kick start a run to at the very least English Premier League safety. They have taken just 3 points in 7 starts, all of those coming from draws and last time out they were beaten 2-1 away at Wolves with their last home game been a 1-1 draw against Leeds.

Tottenham made a brilliant start to the season, but then lost 3 in a row only to right the ship last time out with a home win over Aston Villa 2-1, that leaves them 8th on the table heading into the weekend. Their last away game was a disappointing 3-1 loss at Arsenal and they also lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace on the road. After a low scoring start to their season Tottenham’s last 4 games have all delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers.

Newcastle 5/2

Draw 26/10

Tottenham 11/10

Suggested Bet: Tottenham win at 11/10

I considered over 2.5 goals, but at 7/10 is was just a bit short for me. I am expecting Tottenham to be too strong for a Newcastle side which has looked really poor this season.

MONDAY

ARSENAL v CRYSTAL PALACE

Arsenal are 11th on the table having recovered from a slow start to have 3 wins and a draw in their last 4 games. That draw came last time out away at Brighton where the result finished 0-0 and their last 2 home games has seen them beat Tottenham 3-1 and Norwich 1-0. 5 of the 7 Arsenal matches have had 2 goals or less in them this season.

Crystal Palace are 14th on the log, 3 points behind Arsenal and they have drawn 4 of their 7 games, winning just 1. Their last 2 games have come at home, a 2-2 draw with Leicester and a 1-1 draw with Brighton and their last away game was a 3-0 loss at Liverpool and they are still looking for their 1st away victory of the season.

Crystal Palace held Arsenal to a goalless draw here last season, but they lost the home leg 3-1.

Arsenal 4/6

Draw 29/10

Crystal Palace 9/2

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 19/20

Goals have been flowing steadily in Palace games though not always the case in Arsenal matches. I think we could be in for an entertaining affair given the head-to-head record of these teams with both teams having found the net in 7 of the last 8 head-to-head matches.
