BettingDiaryThere are a host of English Premier League fixtures this weekend and we select one from each day to have a bet on.

Although Manchester City appear to have wrapped up the English Premier League title, at least as far as the bookmakers are concerned, there are still plenty of long term markets to bet on including a Premier League winner without Manchester City where Liverpool are trading 2/11 favourites.

FRIDAY

WATFORD v NORWICH

This is very much a relegation 6 pointer with 17th placed Watford taking on 18th placed Norwich. Watford are on 14 points, one point ahead of Norwich, but having played 2 games less.

Watford broke a run of 6 successive losses when they drew 1-1 at Newcastle last time out. Their previous 4 home matches have all ended in defeat and they have only won twice in 10 attempts at home this season.

Norwich also broke a run of 6 successive losses, but with a victory at home to Everton last time out. Their previous away game was a 2-0 defeat to West Ham and overall they have only taken 5 points from a possible 30 on the road this season and they have lost their last 3 away matches in succession.

Norwich away games average 2.8 goals, but amazingly they have only scored 3 times in 10 away matches.

Watford 21/20

Draw 23/10

Norwich 5/2

Suggested Bet: Watford win at 21/20

Despite losing a lot of matches recently Watford are capable of beating any team on their day and have actually showed some decent form of late. Norwich’s away record is awful and I think Watford are one of the bets of the weekend.

SATURDAY

MANCHESTER UNITED v WEST HAM

Manchester United are 7th on the log, 2 points and 3 positions behind West Ham having played a game less. Their most recent fixture was a 3-1 win at Brentford in midweek and their last home game was a disappointing 1-0 loss to Wolves.

Overall at home this season they have won 50% of their games and digging into their goal stats at Old Trafford shows an average of 3.2 goals per match with a 50% split of over and under 2.5 goals.

West Ham saw a run of 3 successive victories ended when they lost 3-2 at home to Leeds last time out and 4 of the last 5 West Ham EPL matches have had 5 goals in them.

The Hammers away record has been good with 6 wins and 2 draws in their 11 games and they have won their last 2 away games. West Ham away matches averaged 2.8 goals each with 6 of their 11 games delivering you profits had you backed over 2.5 goals.

Manchester United 9/10

Draw 26/10

West Ham 11/4

Suggested Bet: West Ham win at 11/4

Manchester United have been inconsistent this season and they haven't been dominant at home and I think that the West Ham team, with an excellent away record, has to be backed at close to 3-1 odds.

For those who fancy a bet in the Goals Markets, over 3.5 goals is trading at 16/10.

SUNDAY

CHELSEA v TOTTENHAM

This London Derby is the final game of the weekend and pits 3rd place Chelsea up against 5th place Tottenham. Tottenham trail Chelsea by 8 points, but have 4 games in hand.

Looking at Chelsea’s recent form they are really battling having taken only 3 points out of a possible 12 and last time out they drew 1-1 away at Brighton. Chelsea’s last 3 home games have all finished as draws and matches at Stamford Bridge averaged 3.2 goals apiece this season.

Tottenham have only lost 1 of their last 10 matches and they have won 3 of their last 4 including a stunning come from behind victory against Leicester 3-2 in midweek. Tottenham have won 4 and drawn 2 of their 9 away matches, but they are undefeated in their last 4 on the road and looking closer at their goal stats Tottenham away games have been low scoring averaging 2.4 goals each.

Chelsea 7/10

Draw 27/10

Tottenham 15/4

Suggested Bet: The draw at 27/10

This should be a tight game, but Chelsea in my opinion are not playing well enough to justify the 7/10 favouritism. I think that a Tottenham team that is proving hard to beat can come away with a draw.
