There are 5 English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday and we suggest a bet in each.
NORWICH v BRIGHTON – Click Here to bet
Norwich have lost 4 successive matches in the EPL including the 3 since play resumed after the COVID-19 break and they sit rock bottom on the table, 6 points adrift of Bournemouth who are 19th. They are coming off a 4-0 hammering away at Arsenal.
Brighton lost 3-0 at home to Manchester United in midweek and prior to that drew to Leicester away and beat Arsenal at home. They sit 15th on the table not quite safe, but pretty close to ensuring their EPL survival.
Brighton won the reverse fixture 2-0 at home.
Betting
Norwich 12/5
Draw 47/20
Brighton 5/4
Suggested Bet: Brighton win at 5/4
Norwich look like a side that has accepted their fate and I think Brighton can take a big step towards safety.
LEICESTER v CRYSTAL PALACE – Click Here to bet
Leicester are holding on to 3rd spot on the table, but only just after taking just 2 points from a possible 9 since the League resumed. Their only home match of that 3 was a goalless draw to Brighton.
After beating Bournemouth away in their return to action Crystal Palace have lost to Liverpool away and Burnley at home and they currently sit 12th on the table.
Leicester beat Palace 2-0 away in the reverse fixture, but Palace have won at Leicester in their last 2 attempts and by 3 goals on each occasion.
Betting
Leicester 7/10
Draw 53/20
Crystal Palace 9/2
Suggested Bet: Leicester win at 7/10
Leicester’s win over Palace in the revere fixture broke a run of 4 successive defeats against them and I think they will do the double here against a side that seems to be lacking a bit for motivation.
MANCHESTER UNITED v BOURNEMOUTH – Click Here to bet
Manchester United are 5th on the table and have taken 7 points from a possible 9 since the resumption of the EPL. They have looked particularly impressive in their last 2 games where they beat Sheffield United 3-0 at home and Brighton 3-0 on the road.
Bournemouth are a side in deep trouble sitting second from bottom on the table and having only taken 1 point from the last 21 they have played for including losing their 3 games since returning from the COVID-19 break. They are coming off a 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle.
Bournemouth won the reverse fixture 1-0 and Manchester United have won on their last 3 visits to Bournemouth.
Betting
Manchester United 2/11
Draw 25/4
Bournemouth 16/1
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Manchester United (-2) at 13/10
There is simply no comparison between the way these 2 sides are playing at the moment and if Newcastle can beat Bournemouth by 3 goals on the road, surely United can do likewise at home.
WOLVES v ARSENAL – Click Here to bet
This should be one of the matches of the weekend with both sides in decent form and positioned next to each other on the table, Wolves sitting in 6th, 6 points clear of Arsenal in 7th. Wolves are undefeated in their last 8 EPL games and have won all 3 since play resumed including a 1-0 win over Bournemouth in their only home match. All 3 games have delivered for over 2.5 goal backers.
Arsenal looked very shaky in returning to action losing to City and Brighton on the road, but they turned things around with an away win over Southampton and a 4-0 hammering of Norwich at home in midweek.
These sides played out to a 1-0 draw at Arsenal earlier in the season and Wolves won this fixture 3-1 last season.
Betting
Wolves 13/10
Draw 47/20
Arsenal 9/4
Suggested Bet: The draw at 47/20
This looks likely to be a very tight game and having looked at various markets including over and under (2.5) goals I settled on the draw.
CHELSEA v WATFORD – Click Here to bet
Chelsea missed the opportunity to go 3rd on the table when they were beaten 3-2 away at West Ham on Wednesday night. They were coming off a 2-1 home victory over Manchester City so that result was particularly disappointing given how close the battle for a top 4 finish is.
Watford sit 17th just outside the relegation zone, but they will have to improve on recent form which has seen them take only 1 point from a possible 9 since play resumed. They would have been satisfied by a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester, but a 1-0 defeat on the road to Burnley and a very disappointing 3-1 loss to Southampton at home has them in all sorts of trouble.
Chelsea beat Watford 2-1 on the road earlier this season and they have won this fixture 3 years in a row.
Betting
Chelsea 9/20
Draw 71/20
Watford 25/4
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Chelsea (-1) at 23/20
I considered over 2.5 goals here but it is quite short at 13/20 and ultimately I see Chelsea doing most of the scoring, the handicap bet that they win the game by more than a goal appeals.
