WSB Logo Orange 80x80This week, the PGA Tour travels to the west coast of the United States for the Farmers Insurance Open. The tournament will take place over the usual four days; however, it will start on Wednesday and end on Saturday.

THE COURSE

The Farmers Insurance Open has been played at Torrey Pines Golf Course for more than 50 years running. The public course consists of two golf courses, North and South. Both are difficult par 72s. The North course plays shorter at 7,258 yards, while the South course plays at 7,802 yards, which was the longest course on the 2023 FEDEX Cup schedule.

It is thus no surprise that big hitters usually come out on top.

The first two days will be played over both courses, while the last two days will be played on the tougher South Course. Torrey Pines sits on top of cliffs of San Diego overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is unprotected from the weather coming off the sea however calm weather is expected for the weekend.

SELECTIONS:

Max Homa at 14/1

Homa will be looking to defend his title after winning last year's tournament by 2 shots. Homa has only played one PGA Tour event this season, The Sentry, where he managed to finish 14th. There is no doubt the American will go into this week with confidence and ready to kickstart his 2024 PGA Tour season.

Suggested Bet: To win outright at 14/1

Keegan Bradley at 28/1

Last year's runner-up is no stranger to the Farmers Insurance Open. He has managed an impressive 3 top 5 finishes over his last 6 starts and is surely due a win soon. The 6-time PGA Tour winner finished tied runner-up 2 weeks ago at the Sentry. With a bit of momentum and a liking to this week’s course, Bradley will no doubt be in the mix.

Suggested Bet: Top 10 finish at 32/10

Adrian Meronk at 50/1

An outside shout; however, the Polish golfer has had 3 top 10 finishes in his last 3 starts. An impressive runner-up performance last week in Dubai will have fed his hunger to win. The long hitter will have no problem with the length of the South Course and will have an advantage over most of the field.

Suggested Bet: Each way at 50/1
