BettingDiaryFormula 1 returns from a short break and we take a look at the Belgium Grand Prix taking place at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.

Let’s start with a look at the current Drivers table where Max Verstappen is 80 points clear of Charles Leclerc with Sergio Perez currently in third, 5 points further back. George Russell is a further 15 points back in 4th spot that means there is very little liquidity in the Drivers Championship betting with Max Verstappen now 1/12 favourite ahead of Leclerc at 15/2.

Good news is the bookmakers have widely priced up this market without Verstappen and here Charles Leclerc is a firm favourite at 6/10 with Hamilton at 5/1, Perez at 11/2, Russell 8/1 alongside Sainz and you can get 500/1 and better the balance.

The Constructors Championship is also basically wrapped up and Red Bull are trading as 1/8 favourites here with Ferrari 6/1 and Mercedes 16/1.

Max Verstappen won his second Grand Prix in a row last time out when he won the Hungarian GP by just under 8 seconds from Lewis Hamilton with Hamilton’s teammate, Russell finishing 3rd.

He now returns to the track where he won last year in very wet conditions with Russell then driving a Williams-Mercedes and Hamilton completing the podium.

The Belgian Grand Prix hasn’t been dominated by any one driver of late although Lewis Hamilton does have 4 wins dating back to 2010 with his last been in 2020.

SELECTIONS:

Max Verstappen win at 10/11

It is really hard to look past the current World Champion and runaway leader to defend his title. He has proven himself at this track and goes for his 3rd victory in a row. If you are taking this bet at World Sports Betting you also have the insurance of a Money Back in Free Bets Guarantee should Verstappen run 2nd. Terms and Conditions apply

Points Finish Sebastian Vettel, yes, at 81/50

Vettel has finished in the Top 10 in four of his last 7 starts and appears to be trending upwards. Last year he qualified in 5th position here and held that position through the race.
