The Circuit Zandvoort is the track for this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix and we take a look at it from a betting angle.
Max Verstappen qualified fastest in last week’s Belgium Grand Prix, but he was forced to start in 14th position due to penalties leaving Carlos Sainz Jnr and Serio Perez on the front row of the grid.
The race got off to a dramatic start with Hamilton and Alonso making contact, Hamilton being forced to retire. Meanwhile Verstappen was fighting his way quickly through the field and in a masterful performance he grabbed the lead and went on to win the race comfortably. Perez was 2nd and Sainz was 3rd.
Verstappen is now 93 points ahead of his nearest rival in the championships Perez with Leclerc 5 points behind and Sainz and Russell a further 15 and 16 points behind respectively. The gap between 2nd and 5th place is only 21 points which is why long term betting interest should be focused on the “Without Verstappen Betting Markets” which sees Leclerc trading at 17/20 favourite, Perez 7/2, Hamilton who is 45 points behind Perez at the moment is 8/1 alongside Sainz and Russell.

Looking back at the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix, Max Verstappen qualified fastest and went on to win the race ahead of his rival, Lewis Hamilton with Hamilton’s teammate at the time, Bottas finishing in 3rd. Verstappen lapped the balance of the field and edged ahead of Hamilton in the Drivers Standings.
The 2021 renewal of the Dutch Grand Prix was the 1st since 1985 so we don’t have much in the way of recent form to go on.

Suggested Bet: Sebastian Vettel to finish in the points at 5/4
This bet has been very good to us the last couple of Grand Prix’s at bigger prices and he certainly seems to be heading in the right direction after his 8th place finish in Belgium.
Suggested Bet: Podium Finish Lewis Hamilton at 81/50
Prior to last weekend’s retirement, Hamilton had reeled off 5 successive podiums.

In closing I fancy Verstappen to win this one, but at 6/10 he just doesn’t fall into my price range and I am going to stick to the 2 bets above for an interest.
