BettingDiaryThere is just a lone Super Rugby match taking place on Sunday and it is very early South African time but those who get up should be treated to a good game.

The first thing to note is that the venue has changed and this game will be played in Sydney. The reason for this shift is the COVID-19 outbreak in Melbourne and it is sad news for those who were going to watch the game in Queenstown.

The Highlanders like all the big New Zealand counterparts have opened with 2 victories, beating the Reds 40-19 in Dunedin and last week they were given a test, but came through it winning 25-15 against the Force in Perth.

The Rebels problem in Super Rugby AU was they didn’t score enough tries and that has proven to be the case in this Tournament as well. They lost 35-13 to the Hurricanes in Wellington last week and in the opening round were hammered 53 by the Blues where they failed to score a 5 pointer.

These sides last met in Super Rugby at the start of 2020 with the Rebels shocking the Highlanders 28-22 in Dunedin.

Highlanders 1/8

Draw 40/1

Rebels 7/1

Handicap: Highlanders (-16.5) at 9/10, Rebels (+16.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Half-time Handicap, Rebels (+8.5) at 1/1

I can’t see the Rebels winning this game or even getting close, but I do think they can be competitive in the first half and stay within 9 points.
