They claimed the big scalp of Mamelodi Sundowns in the last 8, winning 1-0 on the road. Celtic won their last League game 1-0 at home to Black Leopards, but they are sitting just outside the relegation zone with only 4 points from their opening 5 matches. Celtic scraped through to the 6^th preliminary round of the CAF Federations Cup when they beat Maniema Union 3-2 on penalties in the second leg over the weekend. They had carried a 2-0 advantage into the tie from the 1^st away leg and rested a few players with the MTN8 Final in mind.

These sides met in the PSL in November with Pirates winning 1-0 on the road and 3 of the last 4 games between the sides have seen both teams score.

Pirates have won the MTN8 Cup 9 times, but their last time was in 2011, Celtic had 1 victory back in 2005. Last year SuperSport won the Trophy with a 1-0 win over Highlands Park at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Another bet I will look at when markets are out is the price of both teams to find the net, South Africa’s Cup games are generally tight, but these sides play with some freedom and historically there have been goals between the pair.
