BettingDiaryThere is plenty of sports betting options for punters to get involved in on Friday and with a busy weekend ahead we have a look at some of the opportunities for you to build your bankroll.

RUGBY

Super Rugby gets going this weekend and there are 3 matches to look forward to on Friday.

In the morning the Blues take on the Chiefs, there has been quite a bit of money here for the Blues who opened (+5.5) and currently sit (+2.5) on the handicap and 5/4 for the win.

The Brumbies then take on the Reds in an Australian Derby in what promises to be a piping hot Canberra and the home team are the favourites here at (-7.5) and we like a more speculative play here namely Folau Fainga’a, the Brumbies to be the first try scorer at 15/2.

Then on Friday night we have the big South African Derby featuring the Sharks and the Bulls down in Durban. The Sharks are (-4.5) point favourites, the bet we fancy is that they win the game, but by 12 points or less at 14/10.

Punters can also look forward to more Super Rugby matches on Saturday as well as the Sydney Sevens which we will cover in more detail in our Weekend Betting Diary.

FOOTBALL

There is an Absa Premiership match on Friday night with Maritzburg United at home to Cape Town City.

Looking at the current betting Maritzburg United are 13/10, Cape Town City 12/5 and the draw is on offer at 41/20.

There is a full list of English Premier League action this weekend, but on Friday night the live coverage is of the Championship with Derby up against Stoke City, Derby are 18/10, the draw is 43/20 and Stoke are 33/20.

Both of these sides have had disappointing seasons, but Stoke may be the value having gone undefeated in their last 4 with 3 victories and a draw.

The 2nd Men’s Australian semi-final takes place on Friday with Dominic Thiem 9/20 to see off Alexander Zverev 33/20 and we think the value may lie with Zverev here although a close match is expected.
