BettingDiaryWe take a look at the two Super Rugby Australia matches taking place this weekend from a betting angle.

The Brumbies remain firm favourites for the Tournament at 8/10 with the Reds into 19/10 and you can get 8/1 the Rebels, 18/1 the Force and the Waratahs are rank outsiders now at 25/1.

WARATAHS v WESTERN FORCE

The Waratahs have made a terrible start to the Tournament losing the opener away at the Reds by 34 points and then taking a 51 point drubbing at the hands of the Brumbies in Canberra last week. They now play their first game in Sydney, but it remains to be seen if home ground advantage can turn their fortunes.

The Force are coming off a bye in Round 2 and in Round 1 they were outplayed by an impressive Brumbies side losing by 16 points at home. They had been heavily fancied by many punters on the day, but failed to beat the (+6.5) handicap.

The Waratahs did the double over the Force in last season’s tournament, winning by 20 points on neutral ground and by 9 points in Sydney.

Waratahs 13/10

Draw 22/1

Western Force 15/20

Handicap: Waratahs (+2.5) at 9/10, Western Force (-2.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Winning Margin, Western Force by under 12.5 points at 16/10

I like the Force’s chances of victory here. They were well beaten by the Brumbies, but the Brumbies look head and shoulders above most other teams in this Tournament and I see nothing for the Waratahs to suggest that the Force can’t bank a win on the road, but I don’t expect it to be a runaway victory.

BRUMBIES v REBELS

The Brumbies have got off to a flyer beating the Force 27-11 away and then beating the Waratahs 61-10 at home last week. They face a Rebels side that had a bye in the opening week, but came out and lost by two points to the Reds in Brisbane last weekend. They looked likely to win the game for long periods and will feel that it is one that got away, but given that the Reds started double digit favourites it was an impressive performance by the Rebels.

Last season the Rebels beat the Brumbies by 18 points on neutral ground with the Brumbies winning in Canberra by 8 points.

Brumbies 1/5

Draw 33/1

Rebels 9/2

Handicap: Brumbies (-13.5) at 9/10, Rebels (+13.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Brumbies (-13.5) at 9/10

I have been very impressed by this Brumbies side so far and feel that there is further room for improvement. They are a tough nut to crack in Canberra and I am going for them to win by 14 points or more.
