BRUMBIES v WESTERN FORCE

The Brumbies are coming off a bye and last time out lost their first game of the season when they blew a big lead to go down 40-38 to the Reds in Canberra in an absolute thriller. They had previously edged the Rebels at home by 3, hammered the Waratahs by 51 and on the road had beaten the Force by 16 points.

The Force put in one of their better performances of the season going down by 7 points away to the Reds last week having been right in contention at half-time. The week before they were edged in a low scoring encounter 10-7 at home by the Rebels and their only other away game was a narrow 4 point win over the Waratahs.

When these sides met in Canberra last year, the Brumbies won 31-14.

Brumbies 1/6

Draw 35/1

Western Force 5/1

Handicap: Brumbies (-14.5) at 9/10, Western Force (+14.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Brumbies (-14.5) at 9/10

The Force can probably keep things tight initially, but I think the class of the Brumbies will shine through for a comfortable victory probably somewhere around 17-20 points and on that note I will throw in a small bet on the Winning Margins spread, Brumbies 16-20 points inclusive currently priced at 11/2.

WARATAHS v REDS

These teams met in Round 1 with the Reds running out comfortable 41-7 winners over the Waratahs.

The Waratahs then went on to lose by 51 points away at the Brumbies before going down narrowly at home to the Force. Last week they found the Rebels too strong in Melbourne losing by 19 points, a game where they started 12.5 points underdogs.

The Reds have been impressive and have won all 4 matches to date including a brilliant come from behind win away at the Brumbies 2 weeks ago. Last week they were pushed hard but beat the Force 26-19 in Brisbane.

Waratahs 11/2

Draw 40/1

Reds 1/7

Handicap: Waratahs (+15.5) at 9/10, Reds (-15.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Half-time Handicap, Waratahs (+7.5) at 9/10

The Waratahs have been quite fast starters and have been good for an early try, I think they may keep the Reds in check over the first half of the match.
