BurnleySix English Premier League matches take place on Saturday 2nd September and our focus is on Sheffield United v Everton, Burnley v Spurs and Brighton v Newcastle

Sheffield United 1.93/1 Draw 2.22/1 Everton 15/10

Three games into the new season and on the evidence so far this is a relegation 6 pointer. Sheffield United have lost all 3 of their matches but there was encouragement last week when they only went down (2-1) to a late Manchester City winner in a home fixture. They also lost 2-1 away to Forest and 1-0 at home to Palace. The Blades also went out of the EFL Cup in midweek after losing on spot kicks to League 1 side Lincoln after a 0-0 draw.

Everton were 2-1 winners at League 2 strugglers Donacster in the FLC Cup in midweek but in the league they are still looking for a first point and first goal. Defeats at home to Fulham and Wolves (both 1-0) either side of a 4-0 hiding at Villa exposed their lack of firepower.

The Verdict:

Much needed striking reinforcements have arrived for both sides and the one that interests me is Everton's Beto, a giant of a man who found a neat finish in the cup in midweek.

Goals could be hard to find but I'm with Beto to pop up anytime.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Beto at 2.33/1 with Playabets

Burnley 2.77/1 Draw 2.95/1 Spurs 9/10

Burnley, along with the two sides mentioned above and Luton, are also looking to open their points account. Burnley have played just the 2 games and this is a third successive home match on the back of defeats to Manchester City (3-0) and most recently Villa (3-1).

Spurs come into the weekend program in third spot with 7 points. A 2-2 draw at Brentford was followed by a 2-0 home win over Manchester United and last week's 2-0 victory at Bournemouth. On the down side they went out of the EFL Cup at Fulham in midweek (1-1, lost on spot kicks)

The Verdict:

A 1-0 win in the EFL Cup at Forest in midweek should help confidence in the Burnley camp after they started last week's home defeat to Villa poorly and never recovered. Meanwhile Spurs have been great to watch and I was surprised to see them exit the EFL Cup at Fulham even though the starting line up was changed quite a bit.

Although he scored in midweek in the cup Richarlison hasn't started the season well up front for Spurs and I'm hoping Son will play more centrally here as he is my anytime goalscorer pick and his place in my fantasy team is in jeopardy.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Son at 1.95/1 with Playabets

Brighton 16/10 Draw 28/10 Newcastle 15/10

Brighton won their first 2 matches in some style, 4-1 at home to Luton and by the same scoreline away to Wolves. They let favourite backers down last week when they were picked off by West Ham, 3-1 in another home fixture and at their time of writing their busy transfer window looked set to continue.

Newcastle have a tough set of early season fixtures. It all started well with a 5-1 home win over Villa but they subsequently went down 1-0 away to Manchester City. They shot themselves in the foot last week, 1-0 up at home to Liverpool who were down to 10 men only to concede 2 late goals in a 2-1 defeat.

The Verdict:

This looks tricky! West Ham sat back and hit Brighton on the counter last week and I wonder if Eddie Howe might set Newcastle up in similar fashion and keep it that way if they score first.

The markets are expecting goals and I'm thinking the second half could see both sides on target.

Bets: 2nd half both teams to score? (yes) at 14/10 with Playabets
