Football Liverpool120The headline English Premier League fixture taking place on Sunday sees Newcastle host Liverpool and we take a look at a range of options available to punters with @BetXchange

Newcastle

Newcastle have taken 3 points from their first 2 matches. On the opening weekend they swamped Vila with a 5-1 victory at St. James Park thanks to goals from Isak (2), Tonali, Wilson and Barnes. They couldn't follow up last weekend when they went down 1-0 at Manchester City, a game where they only started to threaten late on.

Liverpool

Liverpool began with a 1-1 draw at Chelsea with Luiz Diaz on target. They were overwhelming favourites for last week's home game against Bournemouth but conceded the opening goal early doors before Diaz and Salah had them in front by half time. Jota sealed the win in the second half and a red card picked up by Alexis Mac Allister has subsequently been over turned.

Head to Head

Liverpool did the double over Newcastle last season, winning 2-1 at Anfield and 2-0 at St. James Park.

Liverpool have won 4 and drawn 2 of their last 6 EPL visits to this venue

The Betting

Newcastle are 23/20 to win the game with the draw at 29/10 and Liverpool can be backed at around 2/1.

A game of 3 goals or more is 5/10 and it's the same price for both teams to find the net.

Callum Wilson is 4/1 to score the first goals of the game and Mo Salah is a 7/1 chance

The Verdict:

This be a great game to watch but as far as the result is concerned it looks tricky to me with all 3 match result options having claims.

I will look for goals and a tentative vote is given to both halves producing 2 or more.

When writing this preview on Friday morning there was plenty of speculation concerning a Saudi bid for Mo Salah. Having lost a couple of players to Saudi clubs already this season I can't imagine Liverpool would let Salah go unless the player himself threatened to down tools.

I'll include Salah to score the first goal at a very tasty looking price.
