Chelsea 8/10 Draw 3/1 Newcastle 3/1
Chelsea's 6 match unbeaten run in the EPL (4 wins, 2 draws) came to an end when they lost 2-1 to Liverpool at Anfield last week and they finished the round in sixth position. A home record of 1 win, 2 draws and 1 defeat with 6 goals scored and the same number conceded has plenty of scope for improvement.
Newcastle have taken just 2 points from the last 12 available to slide towards mid table although they are still only 2 points behind Chelsea. Their last 2 road trips saw them lose 3-1 at Fulham and draw 0-0 at Everton.
The Verdict
Cole Palmer has been sitting out Chelsea's midweek European matches, keeping him fresh for the league games and I like the look of his price boost to have 2 or more shots on target.
Bets: Player to have 2 or more shots on target, Cole Palmer at 1.65/1 with Sportingbet
Crystal Palace 3/1 Draw 29/10 Spurs 0.82/1
Palace remain in the bottom 3 with just 3 points and they are still looking for their first win of the season. Their tally of 5 goals scored is the lowest in the top flight and their home record comprises of 2 draws and 2 defeats.
Spurs were on a going day last weekend and they put West Ham away 4-1 in a home fixture. They have taken just 4 points from 4 road trips, often drawing or losing games they were dominating.
The Verdict
I'm surprised to see Palace really battling given they finished last season so strong, their lack of goals is a real concern but given Spurs rarely keep a clean sheet I see scope for a high scoring game.
I'll take my chances with another boosted price for both teams to score in a game of 4 goals or more.
Bets: Both teams to score and total goal, over 3.5 and yes at 1.75/1 with Sportingbet
West Ham 1.85/1 Draw 11/4 Man United 5/4
After 8 rounds of matches West Ham are averaging just 1 point per game. They did win their most recent home match, 4-1 against Ipswich, but having gone down by the same scoreline at Spurs last time out they have now conceded a total of 15 goals.
Man United drew at Galatasaray in the Europa League on Thursday, a fifth draw in their last 7 matches across all competitions. They came from behind to win 2-1 at home to Brentford last weekend but remain in the bottom half of the standings with 11 points.
The Verdict
West Ham just can't seem to get going but those draws in recent Man United games sway me towards a share of the spoils here.
Bets: Match result draw at 11/4 with Sportingbet
Arsenal 14/10 Draw 24/10 Liverpool 1.87/1
A first half red card for Saliba contributed towards Arsenal's first defeat of the season, 2-0 at Bournemouth last weekend. The Gunners did edge a UCL home fixture against Shakhtar 1-0 in midweek but they are now 4 points behind Liverpool and 3 shy of City in the title race.
Liverpool are coming to the end of a huge week which has seen them win 2-1 at home to Chelsea and 1-0 at Leipzig in the UCL. They top the standings with 7 wins and 1 defeat and have been foot perfect away from home with 4 wins from 4, scoring 8 and conceding just the 1.
The Verdict
Given Saliba is suspended and a couple of other first choice Arsenal defenders have been carrying knocks and are in a race to prove their fitness I'm with Liverpool to find the net at least twice.
Bets: Liverpool total goals, over 1.5 at 14/10 with Sportingbet
