Football ManUtd120Manchester United host Liverpool in our featured FA Cup quarter final on Sunday and we look to the goalscorer markets for a betting interest.

Man United

The FA Cup is United's only chance of a trophy this season and they have travelled in each of the previous rounds. A 2-0 win at Wigan was followed by a 4-2 victory at Newport where they overcame a major wobble. In the previous round they were 1-0 winners away to Forest thanks to a late Casimero goal.

United are currently sixth in the EPL standings, 6 points behind fifth placed Spurs who also have a game in hand. When United went to Anfield for the first league meeting this season in mid December they dug in for a 0-0 draw.

Liverpool

Liverpool's cup run started with a 2-0 win at Arsenal and they followed up with a 5-2 home win over Norwich and then a 3-0 home win over Southampton.

After last week's 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City, Liverpool (and City) are now 1 point behind Arsenal in an EPL title race which could go right to the wire. Liverpool have already banked the EFL Cup this season, beating Chelsea 1-0 in extra time. They also breezed through to the Europa League quarter finals in midweek, beating Sparta Prague 6-1 on the night to go through 11-2 on aggregate and they have Mo Salah back from injury.

The Betting

At the time of writing Man United are trading at 29/10 to win the game with the draw priced at 28/10 and Liverpool can be backed at around 17/20

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.53/1 and it's the same price for both teams to score

The Verdict

Liverpool's youngsters have been terrific in recent weeks and whilst some of them will still be required here the cavalry is gradually returning. The sheer volume of games Liverpool have been involved in compared to United would a bit of concern to me but they could hardly be in a better space right now.

As for Man United I have battled to call their games and their form all season, they will need a special performance to stay in the competition but I wouldn't completely write them off.

I'll look for a couple of goalscorers who might a little under the radar. Whilst the return of Salah for Liverpool will make him a popular choice I will side with Alexis Mac Alistair who is in good form of late. For United, Bruno Fernandes is another speculative pick.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Alexis Mac Allister at 5/1 with Sportingbet

Anytime goalscorer Bruno Fernandes at 9/2 with Sportingbet
