Race 1

MANEKI NEKO showed good improvement when third in his last start over this C&D. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Danon Platina is a progressive type and with luck in running, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

GUARDING THE WALL was in need of his debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Querari would have gained from the experience and if not too green around the turn, he should pose a threat.

THE GREY KING finished 2.7 lengths behind the top selection on debut. The son of Vercingetorix was green in running that day and tired in the latter stages. He would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement.

Race 2

TENANGO produced an encouraging debut effort over this C&D. He took time to find his feet that day, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and from pole position, he may be the one to side with.

KAAPSE KLOPSE has finished fourth in both his efforts to date. He raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on well at the finish. He does have to contend with the widest draw, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

NORDIC CHIEF finished 0.4 lengths behind the second selection on debut. He was slow into stride, green in running but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.

Race 3

GLEE CLUB moved up like a winner over 1250m on this course last time, but was caught late by Red Moon Rising. The daughter of The United States would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She will love the extra distance on offer and from pole position, she should go one better.

ICE RAIN finished 2.7 lengths behind the top choice on debut. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she had to be switched for running room in the latter stages. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.

GIMMETHELIMELIGHT stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. From her handy draw of five, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 4

APACHE CHIEF challenged strongly in his last start over 1400m, but found one too good in the form of Lexican Point. The son of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and will love the rise to the mile. He will strip a much fitter horse today and is the horse to beat

NAUSHON ran on from last when second over this C&D. He has cracked a good draw of four and should be closer turning for home. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GREENLAND finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

TWO A PENNY showed good improvement when second in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to the mile. The daughter of Twice Over will strip a much fitter horse today and she is the one to beat.

LICKETY SPLIT stayed on when second over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She jumps from pole position and if getting away to a clean start, she should pose a massive threat.

COULDITBE stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Red Palace. She has an awkward draw of nine to contend with, but gets the services of Aldo Domeyer who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 6

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS was his own worst enemy over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time as he over raced in the early stages. He returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. The 5yo gelding won his only attempt over this C&D. Bernard Fayd’Herbe is booked to ride and if switching off early, he can return to winning ways.

FAIRE ADVANTAGE was doing his best work late in his comeback run over 1250m on this course. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KIMBALL O’HARA has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to the mile. From his good draw of four, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 7

FUTURE VARIETY ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Winter Nursery last time. He returns from an 18-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Var clearly has ability and if not too green around the turn, he should be the one to beat.

JEWEL CAT is better than his last start as the saddle slipped in running. He would have strengthened up during his time off the track. The son of Captain Of All will enjoy the drop to 1000m and is one of the leading contenders.

TOUGH TERRAIN showed very good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He took the lead at the 200m mark, but was caught in the shadow of the post. He is the stable elect with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle and merits obvious inclusion.

Race 8

This is a competitive Progress Plate with more than half of the field returning from a break. GIMME‘S LASSIE stayed on when third in the Listed Olympic Duel Stakes last time. She is unbeaten from two starts on this course. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will strip a much fitter horse and she should give the males a run for their money.

KING REGENT ran on well when second over 1600m last time. The 10-week break would have done him the world of good. The son of Dynasty may be at his best over further, but he will be running on and can feature.

DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE returns from a lengthy 70-week break. He won his only attempt on this course. The son of Twice Over is a classy individual and if not in need of this outing, he should be too good for this field.

Race 9

YAMADORI followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish over this C&D. Despite racing wide around the turn, the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Lancaster Bomber takes a drop-in class and from pole position, he should be the one to beat.

SEEKING PEACE‘S last three starts have been good. She moved up well in her last start over 1400m, but was outrun late. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.

EASY MONEY was touched off in her last start over this C&D. She is in a good space and with luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 10

MIA‘S HARPER was an impressive winner when shedding her maiden tag at the second time of asking. She lost a length leaving the start, but quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The daughter of Danon Platina looks to be above average and if not too green around the turn, she can follow up with another victory.

ONI SAN finished third in her post maiden effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. Richard Fourie retains the ride and she should pose a threat from pole position.

DOUBLE GRAND SLAM was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag at the second time of asking. She returns from a lengthy 26-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She does take on stronger, but has scope and should be up to the task at hand
