RACE 1

ANUSCHKA’S WORLD has produced two good efforts to date. He would have come on from his last outing and should strip a much fitter horse. The son of One World is a progressive type and Muzi Yeni may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

WORLDLY hails from the visiting Glen Kotzen stable. He was in need of his debut effort over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If all went well with his travels, he should make the natural improvement.

YELLOW JACKET is better than her last start in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery as she was reported to be coughing post race. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and if finding the form of her debut effort, she should give the males a run for their money.

RACE 2

EAT PREY LOVE ran a fair race in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Her penultimate run when second over 1200m suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. She does have an awkward draw of eight to contend with but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

MILLION REASONS finished 2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

QUEEN OF JAZZ showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on this course. She found betting support that day. If seeing out the 1400m, she should be involved at the finish.

RACE 3

CICADIDAE caught the eye in her local debut over 1200m on the polytrack. She ran on well at the business end and will love the step up to 1400m. She would have come on from the run and from her handy draw of six, she may be the one to side with.

HAVRE DE GRACE ran a good race when second in her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She raced from a handy position and rallied late. The daughter of Coup De Grace is having her first run for trainer Cliffie Miller and if settled into her new surroundings, she should pose a threat.

CABARET was her own worst enemy last time as she over raced in the early stages. Her penultimate run when second over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was encouraging. She is having her first run for trainer Gavin Smith and if switching off early, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 4

PEMBROKE finished 1.35 lengths behind METAR last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. If getting away to a clean start, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

METAR fought hard when second in her last start over this C&D. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and she merits healthy respect.

LEGAL THRILLER took on a competitive field in the Listed East Cape Guineas last time. He ran a good race when second in his penultimate start over this distance on the polytrack. Richard Fourie returns to the saddle and back in Handicap Company, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 5

THE MAURITIAN stayed on when fourth in his last start over 1400m on this course. He was beaten under a length in his penultimate start in a competitive field. The son of Vercingetorix takes a drop in class and Richard Fourie may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

SAY YES is having her first run for the Zietsman Oosthuizen stable. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off her back and if suited to this course, she should give a good account of herself.

KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is having his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in his last outing has come out and won since. He is a horse that should enjoy the long run-in and can find a form return.

Race 6

CRUISE CONTROL is the best bet on the programme. He showed good speed in his last start on the polytrack, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. Three of his nine career victories have come over this C&D. Luyolo Mxothwa retains the ride and the son of Querari should notch up his tenth-career victory.

THE WINTER LAKE rallied late when second in the Listed East Cape Sprint Cup last time. The drop to 1000m should not pose a concern as he has won over this distance in the past. He is a solid backup for the Gavin Smith stable.

CLIFF TOP finished 1.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. He is at his best over this distance and cannot be ignored

RACE 7

JOY AND PEACE was an easy winner in the Oaks Plate over 1800m on this course last time. She took the lead at the 300m mark and despite hanging in the closing stages, she won with a ton in hand. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from six starts on this course. The daughter of Master Of My Fate should have no issues with the rise to 2000m and if keeping on a straight line, she should follow up.

EPIKLEROS should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had to be switched outwards at a crucial stage in the race. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is distance suited and is one of the leading contenders.

BACK FOR MORE finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 8

WAZ WOUTER should have finished closer to the winner in the Listed Ibhayi Stakes last time as he was inconvenienced at the 300m mark. It must be noted that Fairy Knight has come out and won again since. The son of Just As Well tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he may be hard to peg back.

GIDEON’S DAUGHTER should have finished closer to the winner last time as she took an awkward stride at the 400m mark. The manner in which she has been finishing off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 2000m. She should give the males a run for their money.

MO FLOW produced a good third-place finish in his post-maiden effort over this C&D. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 9

GUNSMOKE is much better than his last start over 1600m on the Polytrack. His form prior to that outing was consistent. He has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this C&D. He has cracked a good draw of three and Devin Ashby will give of his best to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

WIND SOCK was running on when third over 1300m on the Polytrack last time. He has won once and finished second twice from eight starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and should earn another cheque for his patrons.

MEETATTHEWINDSOR finished 1.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish
