Winning Form selections for Fairview on Friday 17th January where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
RACE 1
EXTRACTION is better than her last two starts on the polytrack as she was reported to be coughing. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. She has finished third twice from as many starts over this C&D. Hlumani Tsewu is a capable work rider and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
VELVET VALOUR raced from a handy position over this distance on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Decree. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
GREENLIGHT EXPRESS has caught the eye in his last two starts in the Eastern Cape. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to 1200m and if jumping on terms, he can go close.
RACE 2
All nine of the runners in this contest are unraced and the betting market will be the best guide. DIRECT HIT is a daughter of Canford Cliffs from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. Her mother, Wrecking Ball was a six-time winner over 1000m. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note.
SUPREME JUDGE hails from the Gavin Smith stable and he is a son of Horizon. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and if not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself.
ROYAL KINGDOM is a son of William Longsword from the Kelly Mitchley stable with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. If not too green in running, he can show promise.
RACE 3
MY BEST SHOT was an easy winner of his last start over 1600m on the polytrack. He took the lead at the 400m mark that day and won with a ton in hand. He has been gelded since that outing. The son of Fire Away has won three times and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is the class horse in this contest and should be the one to beat.
GOLDEN LINK is better than his last start as he was reported to have choked up. He has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this distance. The son of Gold Standard may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
GOLDEN RULE returns from a lengthy 28-week break and returns to the Eastern Cape. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and he carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself.
RACE 4
FIRE ALARM ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. She set the pace and stayed on at the finish. She returns from a 14-week break which may have done her the world of good. She meets the right field and if not in need of this outing, she should take a power of beating.
GLOBAL SCENE took on winners in her last start over 1000m. She finished second in her three outings prior to that run. The daughter of Global View is back in Maiden Company and is one of the leading contenders.
MS PATTY is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. The daughter of Flower Alley jumps from pole position and there should be good improvement to come from her.
Race 5
HEART STEALER ran a good race when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. He jumped inwards leaving the start and stayed on at the business end. The blinkers have been re-fitted which should put his mind on the task at hand. He jumps from pole position and may be the one to side with.
HEAD GARDENER was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over this distance on the polytrack. He is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field once again and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RASTIGNAC finished 2.1 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
LEGAL THRILLER rallied late when second over this distance on the polytrack last time. The blinkers have been re-fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He takes a slight drop in class and can notch up his third-career victory.
POTENT CAPTAIN should have finished closer to the winner last time. He has cracked a good draw of two and Craig Zackey may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
ARIVIDICIO stayed on when fourth over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be involved at the finish.
RACE 7
HOLOCENE ran on strongly when second over 1400m on the polytrack last time. The son of Heavenly Blue meets a similar line-up this afternoon and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he should be the one to beat.
OLIVER TWIST won a good race in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. The gelding did the trick on the son of Ideal World. He takes on stronger today, but he has scope and may be up to the task at hand.
RAVILIOUS is better than his last start as he was reported to be coughing post-race. The manner in which he has finished off some of his races suggests that he will enjoy the rise to 1600m. With a bit of luck in running, he may be the one to cause the upset.
RACE 8
PASSCHENDAELE was not disgraced when fifth in the Grade 3 Betway Carry On Alice Stakes last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts on this course. The daughter of Querari has class about her and may be the one to side with.
THREE ROCKS is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. She has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. If putting her best foot forward, she should pose a massive threat.
KABON KAPI was an easy winner of her last start over 1300m on the polytrack. She has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back
