fairviewtrackWinning Form selections for all races from Fairview on Friday 18th October where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge

RACE 1

AND ACTION finished 1.75 lengths behind BROOKSIDER last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is drawn widest of all in barrier 10 but Richard Fourie is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy and he may be hard to peg back.

BROOKSIDER was running on when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He jumps from pole position and is one of the leading contenders.

LUCKY SPIRIT showed good improvement when third over 1100m on the turf last time. He showed good pace before getting outrun late. If suited to the polytrack, he should be involved at the finish.

RACE 2

KAROO GOLD is having his first run for the Zietsman Oosthuizen stable. He showed signs of needing his first run as a gelding. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has finished second on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack previously. If settled into his new surroundings, he can win a race of this nature.

OLIVER TWIST should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be switched for running room at the 150m mark. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if suited to the polytrack, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

MAYOR OF MERRIVALE has had excuses in his last two starts. He runs well for Denis Schwarz and on best form shown, he should earn another cheque for his patrons.

RACE 3

CRUZADOR was an easy winner of his last start over 1300m on this course. He set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. He is the stable elect with Craig Zackey up and can follow up with another victory.

RUSSIAN EMPIRE finished 3.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe.

CHARLIE MALONE has finished third in his last three starts. He finished 0.5 lengths behind SWISS WALT in his penultimate start.

RACE 4

DUBAI HILLS finished 0.5 lengths behind MONTELENA last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he should notch up his third-career victory.

MONTELENA ran on well and challenged strongly last time, but found one too good in the form of Heart Stealer. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of The United States jumps from pole position and she should give the males a run for their money.

EYJAFJALLAJOKULL moved up well over 1400m last time, but was outrun late by Lt Alexander. He does have work to do at the weights, but is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

Race 5

PUERTO PLATA took on stronger in his last start over 2200m on this course. His last victory came over this distance. He takes a drop in class and from his good draw of four, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

SLAINTE MHATH finished 1.25 lengths behind HEAD GARDENER last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HEAD GARDENER set the pace over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by San Quintin. Craig Zackey retains the ride and the combination should be hard to peg back at the finish.

Race 6

KING REGENT is a winner of the first two legs of the Nelson Mandela Bay Racing Poly Challenge. He was settled at the rear of the field over 1400m last time and ran on powerfully. The son of Dynasty should have no issues with the rise to the mile on this course. He is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

CHERRY ANO is better than his last start over 1800m on the turf. He won his penultimate outing over this distance. On best form shown, he should be the one to fill the exacta spot.

BUSH TRACKER is better than his last start over 1800m on the turf. He finished 0.1 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate outing.

RACE 7

LADY WRITER has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She has won once, finished second twice and third three times from ten starts on this course. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from her awkward draw of seven and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

CATCH YOUR BREATH stayed on well when second over 1300m on this course last time. She finished 0.75 lengths behind BEAU KALA in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She won her only attempt over this C&D and is a big runner.

BEAU KALA ran on from last when winning her last start over this distance on the turf. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

RACE 8

COLORAMA stayed on when 3.35 lengths behind Flower Festival over 1400m last time. The daughter of Captain Of All has dropped to a competitive rating and the Tara Laing stable is in hot form. Chase Maujean retains the ride and with luck from her awkward draw of eight, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

STATE CAPITOL hails from the visiting Glen Kotzen stable. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. If suited to this course, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

IGNITETHELIGHT won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over 1200m on this course last time. She will love the rise to the mile and with luck in running, she should give a good account of herself
