RACE 1
FIRE ALARM is an unraced daughter of Fire Away from the Alan Greeff yard and it is encouraging that stable jockey Richard Fourie is booked to ride. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
CAN’T SAY NO made the expected natural improvement when second in her last start over this distance on the turf. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and if not too green around the turn, she can go one better.
GOLDEN LINK has produced two fair efforts to date. He was reported to have choked up last time which didn’t help his chances. The son of Gold Standard may be the first male past the finishing post.
RACE 2
HAT HOT HAT ran a fair race in his stable debut over 1200m on this course last time. The son of Hat Puntano would have come on from the run and should love the rise to the mile. He meets the right field and with Marco van Rensburg retaining the ride, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
OUTER DIMENSION showed improvement in her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. The daughter of Vercingetorix will enjoy the step up to the mile. If getting away to a clean start, she should pose a threat.
SPECMAGIC finished 1.25 lengths behind MASTER OF DEFENSE last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. If keeping on a straight line, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
RACE 3
STORM BOULEVARD is having his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. He produced a typical second run after a rest in his last outing over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. His previous three efforts were encouraging. If suited to this surface, he is capable of winning a race of this nature.
CRYSTAL MAIDEN ran a decent race in her local debut over 1600m on the turf. She raced from a handy position but found one too good in the form of Essential. The daughter of Flower Alley will love the rise to 1900m and she is one of the leading contenders.
WOLFRAM is better than his last two starts on the turf. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He has finished second twice and third twice from five starts over this C&D. With luck in running, he can finish in the placings.
RACE 4
LADY WRITER has consistent form lines to her credit. She raced from a handy position over 2000m last time, but was outrun late by Trip To Barberton. The daughter of Twice Over gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She may be rewarded for consistency.
ON THE GUEST LIST finished 0.5 lengths behind LADY ZULTANITE last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result.
LADY ZULTANITE won a good race in her local debut over 1600m on the turf. She meets similar company this afternoon and if suited to the polytrack, she can follow up.
Race 5
GRAZINGINTHEGRASS stayed on strongly when second over 1600m on the turf last time. He has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding is having his peak run today and he should be cherry-ripe. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RUNAWAY SONG has lost his best form and is having his first run for the Gavin Smith outfit. He has won twice and finished second once on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. If settled into his new surroundings, he should have good improvement to come.
GLOBAL ALLY won a good race in his last start over 1400m on the turf. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 6
TEATRO ran a good race when third in his last start over 1200m on the turf. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from seven starts on this course. He has cracked a good draw of two and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
WHATEVER NEXT has decent recent form lines to his name. He finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. He will be mowing down the frontrunners.
SLINGS AND ARROWS has not finished too far off the winner in recent efforts. He fought hard in his last start, but found one too good in the form of Global Ally. He has cracked a good draw of three and merits healthy respect.
RACE 7
CONCERTO fought hard for her last victory over this distance on the turf. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts on this course. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is the stable elect with Richard Fourie up and she can win again.
RAISING QUINN raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, but found one too good in the form of For All We Know. She is ideally suited to this course and with luck in running, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
DREAM SCAPE was an easy winner of her last start over 1200m on the turf. She raced from just off the pace, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. She runs well for Marco van Rensburg and merits obvious inclusion
RACE 8
AMERICAN DREAM is a winner of his last two starts over this C&D. He raced from a handy position last time and fought hard to keep all challengers at bay. He does take a rise in class but is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
DONNY TEE finished 0.05 lengths behind GREY SMOKE last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should pose a threat.
COASTAL PATH showed good pace over 1200m on the turf last time, but was caught late by Fiery Duke. He is versatile and with luck from his wide draw of 11, he should be involved at the finish
