Race 1
I LIKE IT HOT showed good speed in her last start over this distance on the Polytrack, stayed on but found one too good in the form of Russian Doll who has come out and won again since. The daughter of What A Winter is a progressive type and from pole position, she may be hard to peg back.
SEA OF TEARS stayed on nicely at the finish last time, but found one too good in the form of Lady Heist. She finished 1.9 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
HONEY LAND has produced three decent efforts to date. She drops to the 1000m and gets the blinkers fitted which should sharpen her up. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 2
DANDOLO finished 0.2 lengths behind HOOVES OF TROY last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this distance. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
HOOVES OF TROY was unlucky in his last start as he clipped heels at the 500m mark. He has won once and finished second twice from four starts over this distance. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a massive threat.
JUSTAGUYTHING stayed on nicely when third over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. He finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights and there should not be much separating them at the wire.
Race 3
MUSIC IS LIFE’S last two starts have been good. He set the pace over this C&D against winners last time and stayed on to finish third. The son of Oratorio is a progressive type and back in Maiden Company, he should be the one to beat.
MOON HARVEST produced an eye-catching debut effort over this distance on the Polytrack. He moved up like a winner that day, but was outrun in the latter stages by Johndunbar. The son of Crusade would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better.
TOP SAIL finished 1.6 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 4
BEQUEST’S last three starts have been decent. She showed good speed over 1160m at Turffontein last time, but tired in the latter stages. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from eight starts over this distance. The daughter of Oratorio takes a drop in class and from pole position, may be hard to peg back.
PETRA raced wide around the turn over this distance on the Polytrack last time and understandably did not go on with the effort. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
ANOTHER LOVE was her own worst enemy over the mile last time as she overraced in the early stages. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. On best form shown, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 5
BRIGHT STAR’S last three starts have been good. She raced from a handy position against winners last time and stayed on nicely to finish second. The daughter of Gold Standard is back in Maiden Company and from her good draw of two, she should go close to winning.
TRIPTOROYALTY has produced two fair efforts to date. It must be noted that the form of her last run has been franked. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m and she merits obvious inclusion.
ACACIA’S BLOSSOM ran a fair race in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and from her good draw of three, can run into the placings.
Race 6
FEELING GROOVY was a beaten odds-on favourite in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She ran a good race when second over this distance in her penultimate run. She is the best horse in this race and if allowed to dictate her own terms in front, she should be rewarded for consistency.
FASHIONIGMA ran a decent race in her first run for the Alyson Wright stable. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will be mowing down the frontrunners.
LOVE OF GOLD finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the extra furlong on offer. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and she has plenty of scope.
Race 7
SYX HOTFIX has some good form lines to his credit. He returns from a short 10-week break which would have done him the world of good. He won his only attempt over this distance and races well fresh. From his good draw of two, he can notch up his third career victory.
MASTER OF LAW was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance on the turf. His penultimate run when finishing third against stronger company catches the eye. He is back on the turf and on best form shown, he should fight out the finish.
DOUBLE MARTINI found the 1200m on the short side last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will love the rise to the mile and will be looking to give trainer Sean Tarry a winner with his only runner carded.
Race 8
RODRIGUEZ has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts over 1400m. He lost a length at the start last time and was awkwardly placed at the 1000m mark, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Twice Over takes a drop in class and if jumping on terms, he is capable of winning in this line-up.
ADMIRAL BIRNHAM followed up his recent victory with a good third-place finish over 2000m in this class. He is better suited to this distance and will be doing his best work late.
CAESURA finished 0.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 3kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around
