Race 1

DOIN’ TIME hung out when finishing third last time out over 1400m, 1.6L behind the winner. He gets a set of blinkers fitted for today’s run and will have Richard Fourie in the irons and the drop in trip should not be an issue.

NOBLE WARRIOR showed plenty of toe when finishing seventh last time out over 1200m, 4.4L back from the victor. He is reunited with Rachel Venniker who claims her 1.5kgs allowance.

LEMON SCENT is a 4-year-old filly taking on the boys, but she showed solid improvement when returning from a three-month rest when 3.9L back from the winner last time out over 1600m.

Race 2

KAROO GOLD is seldom far off the action, finishing second in his last two outings, the latest over 1800m, just a neck back from the winner, but he was bumped in running that day. The colt will be hoping to go one better today.

ROCK OF BISMANTOVA moved up like a winner when finishing second last time out over 1600m, 2.5L off the winner. He could prove hard to reel in over the latest stages.

MOON HARVEST stayed on well to finish second in his latest outing over 1400m, 2.5L back from the winner and on that effort, he should enjoy the extra ground on offer here.

Race 3

FLAG MAN goes for his hat-trick after two victories over 1600m, the latest by 0.4L, despite jumping awkwardly. He is re-united with Richard Fourie and the trio is very much on the cards.

ANCIENT WORLD has consistent formlines to his name and followed up his penultimate run victory over 1800m with a third place finish next time out over 1600m, 0.9L back from the winner and should turn in another honest performance today.

ROYAL SWAN MASTER returns from Cape Town and stayed on well when fourth last time out over 1600m, 2.85L behind the victor. If over his travels, he should be a factor here.

Race 4

PURPLE POWAHOUSE is seldom far off the action and has finished second in his last three outings, the latest over 1200m, 0.8L behind the winner, notwithstanding losing 1L at the start. If jumping on terms, he may prove difficult to oppose.

SAKHALA IS’CATHULO raids from Gauteng and brings solid form with him. He showed plenty of toe to win over five furlongs three runs back and if suited to the polytrack, he should keep the top pick honest.

NDAKA followed up his penultimate start win over 1000m with a fourth-place finish next time out over 1200m, 1.55L back from the winner. He is a speedy sort who should enjoy the drop in trip.

Race 5

EVENTIDOR had his consistency rewarded with a victory last time out over this c&d by 0.3L. He will be hoping for a quick double.

The gelding renews his rivalry with ZOOMBOMBER who finished second in the race mentioned above and is 2.5kgs better off at todays weights, which should normally be enough for him to reverse that result but the former is more consistent and battled stoutly for that last win.

LOU LOU THE LEGEND has his peak run and stayed on well in his last start over 1400m and should enjoy the step up to 1600m.

Race 6

BRAVE VOYAGER has finished second in three of his last four starts, the latest over 1600m, 2.4L back from the winner. He raced just behind the frontrunners that day, but found one better on the day. The gelding will be hoping to go one better here.

QUICK STAR had solid form prior to finishing seventh in his latest start over 1400m, 10.35L adrift of the winner, but his penultimate effort catches the eye. A repeat of that run should see him in the winner’s box.

ULTRA QUICK seems better than his seventh last time out over 1200m and will be hoping to welcome a form return today, jumping from a useful gate three.

Race 7

KNIGHT WARRIOR won his penultimate start over 1200m on the poly and then finished second over the same c&d next time out 0.6L behind the winner, despite hanging out over closing stages.

IMAGINABLE took a bump in running when finishing 5.3L fourth last time out over 1400m, so he had his excuse. Given better luck in running, he should be a big runner in this line-up.

PORFIRIO lacked extra over the latter stages when fifth last time out over 1400m, but has won three out of six over this distance and should not be easily dismissed.

Race 8

JUST BE NICE just failed when finishing second last time out over 1400m at the Vaal, just a neck back from the victor. She has her peak run and from a cosy draw four, she should be right up there when they hit the line.

UMHLALI followed up her penultimate start victory over 1400m with a fourth-place finish next time out over the same trip, 2.2L behind the winner. She returns from a 10 week rest and retains the services of Rachel Venniker.

DOLLAR A DIME showed solid improvement to win her last start over this c&d after racing handy and finishing the best. If confirming that last effort, she could complete a quick double
