Marco van Rensburg knows her well and in this type of field, she should take a power of beating.

POPPYCOCK'S last start can be ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. He ran a decent race in his penultimate start when finishing third over this c&d. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. Gavin Lerena takes the ride today and the pair should be the ones to side with here.

Race 8: MR FLOOD (2)

Jockey: M v Rensburg  - Trainer: M Houdalakis

MR FLOOD finished 0.5 lengths behind MIGHTY HIGH in the Senor Santa Stakes last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms this afternoon, but the son of Pathfork is unbeaten from two starts over this distance. Marco van Rensburg knows him well and the combination should get back to winning ways. 

Race 9: GREEN GUNSTON (2)

Jockey: M Yeni - Trainer: C Erasmus 

GREEN GUNSTON is one of the better bets on today's card. He took on much stronger company last time over six furlongs and was not disgraced. He takes a drop in class this afternoon and is a better horse over this distance at this stage of his career. Muzi Yeni does duty aboard the son of Gimmethegreenlight and the pair should be tough to beat.

Jockey: S Khumalo - Trainer: C Jonker

OYSTER KING is the value bet on this afternoon's card. He showed some signs of a form return when staying on well at the finish over a mile on the Classic course last time. He has finished second once from two starts over this distance. It is encouraging that S'manga Khumalo takes the ride and from his good draw of three, he should get back to winning ways.
