Race 1 

CHERRY OH BABY produced an encouraging comeback run when third over 1160m at Turffontein. She stayed on nicely at the finish that day. The daughter of Danon Platina would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Diego De Gouveia retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

MESSALINA raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Spumante Dolce. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GIMME PASSION finished 2.2 lengths behind the second selection on debut. She would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.

Race 2

ALESIAN BEAU is better than his last start in a strong Maiden field over 1160m at Turffontein. His penultimate run when second over this distance at Turffontein, catches the eye. He has scope and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he may be the one to side with.

ENDIZAYO was disappointing in her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. Her first three career efforts over this distance were good. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and she is one of the leading contenders.

TIGER STORM was no match for Bourbon Reserve when second over this C&D last time. The son of Rafeef is in a good space and can earn another cheque for his patrons.

Race 3

FULLY LOADED ran a fair race in his last start over 1475m on this course. He has won once, finished second once and third five times from 11 starts on this track. The two-pound drop in the ratings should assist and if putting his best foot forward, he may be the one to beat.

WYZEACT finished 3.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. He is carded to race on 24 December 2024 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

BIOFARMER finished 2.45 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 4

LITTLEMARYSUNSHINE is better than her last start in the Grade 3 Allied Steelrode Yellowwood Handicap as she was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She finished third in her only attempt on this course. She is carded to race on 28 December 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

MISS SCALETTA was disappointing in the Grade 3 Betway Fillies Mile last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is having her peak run and on best form shown, she should pose a threat.

I AM REGAL was reported to be not striding out in her last start over 2000m on the Turffontein Inside course. She has won twice and finished second once from five starts on this course. She has the early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and may be hard to peg back.

 

 

Race 5

SNEAK PREVIEW challenged strongly when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that Flamboyant Flyer has come out and won again since. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can go one better.

MARY READ should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was baulked for galloping room from the 400m mark to the 200m mark. With a bit of luck in running, she should pose a big threat to the top choice.

ANNEWITHAN E was an easy winner of her last start over 1600m on the Classic course. She returns from a well-deserved 15-week break. It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena retains the ride and if fit, she should be competitive.

Race 6

FRANCILIEN is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She may not have seen out the 1450m in her last start. The daughter of What A Winter has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. Despite her big mass of 62kgs, she may be the one to side with in this field.

BLIZZARD SNOW‘S last two starts have been fair. She was not disgraced against male company last time. The daughter of Erupt is back against her own sex and she is one of the principal contenders.

ONE PARTY ran a fair race over 1400m at Turffontein last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She is back against her own sex and cannot be ignored.

Race 7

MARIACHI MADNESS showed good improvement in his last start over 1160m at Turffontein. He stayed on nicely at the finish, but found one too good in the form of Micke’s Bomb. The son of Oratorio is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be the one to beat.

WRITTEN IN STONE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

CAPTAIN EFFICIENT finished 1.85 lengths behind the top selection in the above-mentioned race. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
