BettingDiaryThe 3rd T20 takes place at Newlands on Tuesday and with England having wrapped up the series already, there is only pride to play for.

The 2nd T20 was very different from the 1st in that it was a low scoring affair with conditions in Paarl less conducive to run scoring than that of the 1st T20 in Newlands.

England won the toss and sent South Africa in and after a brisk start things stalled and the innings never really took off with the Proteas reaching 146 for 6 in their 20 overs. There were contributions from De Kock, Van Der Dussen and Linde, but the fact that Van Der Dussen couldn’t score at a run a ball is indicative of the fact that conditions were tough for the batsmen.

There were no stand out bowlers for England with most of them contributing although if you had backed Rashid to be Top Bowler he collected 2 for 23 in his 4 overs that would have been enough to see you home.

England got themselves into trouble in the chase, falling quite well behind the run rate and South Africa actually went favourites at one point. England got up though thanks to a well-played 55 from Malan and a quick unbeaten 26 by Captain, Morgan and in the end they won in the final over by 4 wickets.

Pick of the South African bowlers was Shamsi with 3 for 19 in his 4 overs and Nortje, Rabada and Linde were also economical with only Ngidi taking serious stick.

England are predictably short for this encounter as they generally seem to be the better team. However South Africa will perhaps have more to play for given that this is now a dead rubber and I am expecting a bounce back from the Proteas.

South Africa 81/50

England 5/10

Suggested Bet: South Africa win at 81/50

There will be plenty of markets priced up including Man of the Match, Top Home and Away Bowler and Batsman, Total Match 4’s and 6’s , which Batsman will score the Most 6’s and also Total First Innings Runs which should be priced at around 175.5 in my opinion.
