BettingDiaryThere are 3 English Premier League matches taking place on Monday and we take look at each of them from a betting angle.

CRYSTAL PALACE v LEICESTER

Palace are 13th on the table and they have only taken 2 points from the last 12 they have played for and they have lost 2 in a row, away at Aston Villa and at home to Liverpool conceding 10 goals and not scoring in that time.

Leicester are coming off a 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United, a result that sees them in 3rd place on the log. Prior to that they had beat Tottenham 2-0 on the road.

Leicester did the double over Palace last season winning this fixture 2-0 and the reverse fixture 3-0.

Crystal Palace 27/10

Draw 51/20

Leicester 21/20

Suggested Bet: Leicester win at 21/20

Leicester are always a dangerous side to play when they are on the road and they face a Crystal Palace team that seems to have lost all confidence and looks ripe for the taking.

CHELSEA v ASTON VILLA

Chelsea are 7th on the table, 1 point behind Aston Villa who are ahead of them on goal difference. Chelsea have lost 3 of their last 4 matches including going down 3-1 away at Arsenal last time out. Their last home game was a 3-0 win over West Ham and were a League table to be drawn up on home matches only they would sit 2nd to Liverpool.

Aston Villa made a fast start to the season and then stumbled, but they have recovered nicely and are unbeaten in their last 4, winning 3 and drawing 1. Last time out they hammered Crystal Palace 3-0 at home and that was on the back of a 3-0 away win over West Brom. Their away form has been excellent winning 5 and losing 1 of their 6 matches.

Chelsea did the double over Aston Villa last season winning both fixtures 2-1.

Chelsea 7/10

Draw 16/5

Aston Villa 7/2

Suggested Bet: Aston Villa win at 7/2

I can’t shake this feeling that something isn’t right in the Chelsea camp at the moment and given Villa’s away record this season, I think the 7/2 is a cracking price. For the more conservative punter consider backing Aston Villa on the handicap at (+1) at 23/20 and this way you also get paid if the match is drawn.

EVERTON v MANCHESTER CITY

The late kick off is a cracker and pits 2nd place Everton up against 5th place Manchester City.

Everton have won their last 4 matches in succession including home wins over Arsenal and Chelsea. Everton home games have averaged 3.7 goals each and they have scored 17 and conceded 11 goals from 7 matches.

Manchester City have recovered from a slow start to the season and are unbeaten in their last 6, winning 4 and drawing 2. Last time out they beat Newcastle 2-0 at home and their last away game was a 1-0 win over Southampton. Manchester City’s away games have been the lowest scoring in the Division, averaging just 1.7 goals and if you were backing over 2.5 goals in the City away games this season you would have only collected once in 7 attempts. City have an excellent head-to-head record against Everton, winning their last 5 matches and last season this fixture finished 3-1 to City.

Everton 11/2

Draw 37/10

Manchester City 5/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Everton (+1) at 16/10

City have improved, but the bookies have appeared to price this on previous reputation and if I look at how Everton have played of late and who they have beaten at home I would have to say that even the 11/2 they win the game is tempting. I will take the more conservative route though and back them on the handicap meaning the draw is also in my favour.
