BettingDiaryThe 5th round of the FA Cup takes place in midweek and we select a match from each of the 3 days to have a bet on.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting on the FA Cup where Manchester City are 17/10 favourites ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea both 6/1, Leicester 10/1 and you can get Tottenham 12/1 and 16/1 and better the balance.

MANCHESTER UNITED v WEST HAM, TUESDAY 21:30

Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-2 at home in the 4th round of the FA Cup and prior to that they had seen off Champion side Watford 1-0 also at home. They were held to a somewhat disappointing 3-3 draw by Everton in the League and they currently sit 2nd on the table, 5 points behind Manchester City.

West Ham are 6th on the table and are also coming off a draw in the League. In the FA Cup they beat Doncaster 4-0 at home in the 4th Round and Stockport 1-0 on the road in the 3rd Round.

Manchester United 13/20

Draw 13/4

West Ham 15/4

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 5/4

High scoring games are a fairly regular occurrence between these sides and I believe we are going to see end-to-end action in this game.

EVERTON v TOTTENHAM, WEDNESDAY 22:15

Everton saw off Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at home in the 4th round and in the 3rd Round they were forced into extra time by Rotherham, eventually winning 2-1 to progress. Everton are coming off a 3-3 away draw at Manchester United and sit 7th on the table with just 1 defeat in their last 5 starts.

Tottenham have also beaten lower League opposition in the first 2 FA Cup matches they have played. In the 3rd Round they beat Marine 5-0 on the road and then saw off Wycombe 4-1 away from home.

Tottenham have slipped to 8th on the table, but they did win their last League game 2-0 at home to West Brom.

Everton 17/10

Draw 43/20

Tottenham 7/4

Suggested Bet: Everton win at 17/10

Tottenham look to be a side really struggling at the moment and I think Everton can take advantage of this and book their spot in the next round. A result similar to the 1-0 win they had over Tottenham in the League when they met them in London earlier this season would not surprise me.

WOLVES v SOUTHAMPTON, THURSDAY 19:30

Wolves and Southampton are both battling a bit in the League this season and Wolves are in 14th, 2 points behind Southampton in 12th, but Southampton have lost their 5 last League games in succession whereas Wolves have had 2 draws, a win and 2 losses in their last 5.

Wolves have got through to the 5th round courtesy of a 1-0 away win over Chorley and a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace.

Southampton beat Shrewsbury 2-0 at home and then beat the Gunners 1-0 at home in the 4th Round.

Wolves 14/10

Draw 9/4

Southampton 21/10

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 9/10

Looking at the head-to-head history between these sides there is a record of both teams finding the net and that appeals as a decent bet in a game where I am struggling to pick a winner although if pushed would lean towards Wolves.

The late kick off on Thursday night is Barnsley v Chelsea (22h00) and if you want to up your odds on the both teams to score in the 1st match up a bit then throw in an in form Chelsea to beat Barnsley at a current price of 3/10, the double both teams to score in Wolves v Southampton and Chelsea to win works out at a shade under 15/10.
