BettingDiaryAhead of what promises to be a busy sporting weekend we take a look at some of Friday’s highlights as well as the latest betting on the Summer Cup in our Daily Diary.

FOOTBALL

There is still a long way to go in the Championship, but Friday night’s televised game has assumed significant importance with 6th placed Swansea at home to 3rd placed Fulham which means both teams are currently sitting in the playoff places.

Swansea have hit a bit of a wobble in recent weeks taking just 2 points from the last 9 they have played for and they face a Fulham side that has won 3 on the trot. These sides have no recent head-to-head form to speak of with their last meeting back in 2013/2014 where Swansea won home and away in the Premier League.

The home side are 19/10 with the draw 49/20 and Fulham are favourites here at 14/10 and that is where we think the money should be going as the sides seem to be heading in difference directions on the table.

The 2nd Test between Australia and Pakistan gets going in the early hours of Friday morning and the Aussies are 2/7 to follow up on their 1st Test victory with the draw 11/2 and Pakistan 7/2.

Warner was in cracking form in the 1st Test and he is 5/2 to be Top Australian Batsman, although we are leaning towards Steve Smith restoring order in the line-up at 7/4.

The New Zealand v England 2nd Test gets going around midnight on Thursday and there will be in-running action for those of you who wake up early.

The Mzansi Super League continues with the Tshwane Spartans 17/20 at home to beat the Paarl Rocks who are priced at even money. As usual there is a host of Exotic Markets on the game and in-running betting will be available

RUGBY UNION

The Pro 14 continues this weekend after a break and on Friday night we have Munster up against Edinburgh with bookies pricing this one at 9/10 the pair. Looking at the team news we do give Edinburgh a slight edge and expect the money to come for the 9/10 about the visitors.

GOLF

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place at the Fairview Turftrack on Friday with an 8 race card starting at 12:10 and set to finish at 16:30.

We expect punters will be taking things easier ahead of the feature race weekend at Turffontein, but Ushanka could well get you off to a positive start in the 1st Race at 13/10.

Our value play for the day comes in the 4th Race, where Horse No. 3, Undiscovered Gem is currently priced at 11/2 for the win and 12/10 for a Top 3 place.
