BettingDiaryWe take a look at Thursday’s sports betting and horse racing highlights in our Daily Diary.

GOLF

Louis Oosthuizen has been well backed to win the Nedbank Golf Challenge and he has been cut from 10/1 to 8/1 for the win. We went into some detail of this event in our Wednesday Diary so given the early start on Thursday there is just one 72 hole match bet we fancy which is Bernd Wiesberger over Joost Luiten at 21/20.

The Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico is this week’s PGA Tour event and here we have Viktor Hovland a 20/1 favourite in what looks a very open field. Danny Lee is a player who has returned to some good form of late and he could be worth an each way play at 40/1 a win and 8/1 a Top 5 finish.

FOOTBALL

There are a host of Euro and AFCON qualifiers taking place on Thursday night so let’s start with Ghana up against South Africa. Bafana look to have been handed a good group here with the top 2 teams progressing and it is most likely to be themselves and Ghana. The home team are fairly firm favourites for this game though priced at 19/20 with South Africa 69/20 and the draw 43/20. There shouldn’t be a lot between these sides and we think Bafana may well be able to hold on for the draw at 43/20.

In Euro 2020 Qualification action England are 1/14 to see off Montenegro at home on Thursday night and in another televised game Portugal are very short at 1/50 to see off Lithuania. If you do fancy the home side for a big win perhaps take over 4.5 goals at 21/20.

CRICKET

The Mzansi Super League continues with the Cape Town Blitz playing against the Jozi Stars on Thursday, the game gets going at 17:30 South African time. This game has been priced up as a coin toss with both sides 10/11 for the win and if you fancy West Indian powerhouse Chris Gale to come right then you can get 11/4 on him being the Top Away Batsman.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Vaal Race Track, a 9 race card getting going at 12:35 and set to finish with the final leg of the Pick Six at 17:20.

Celtic Sea, Horse No. 1 in the 7th Race looks set to be a favoured Pick Six banker and currently priced at 5/10 for the win and Ring Of Fire, Horse No. 6 in the 9th Race also looks tough to beat over the 1000 metres sprint and is currently trading at even money.
